Okay people, I'm thinking about making a roleplay based on this, and I need to know what you guys would think of this!
Dream assassins. Mind warriors. The Nakrai have many different names, but have been joined under one singular purpose; to eliminate the demons that lurk within each and every dream, the Draeteri. Nakrai are no different than the people you see every day. They could be people you pass on the street, or someone you know, but each and every one of them holds a tremendous amount of power within them. They are beings that have a certain purity which wards off the Draeteri that are usually found in each mind. Without proper training and guidance, they would be easily slaughtered. They all have special abilities and weapons that are bound to their soul, each one made to match the Nakrai’s personality and soul. If a Nakrai warrior dies in a dream, they die in the real world a short time after, usually taken over by the Draeteri.
The Draeteri are the demons that reside in the further recesses of most mortal minds. Frequently referred to many as “nightmares” or “bad dreams” in general, they are mostly hideous monsters that range in both size and body type, but there’s always one thing that clearly marks them. While most Draeteri have claws, fangs or razor-sharp spines, each one has a grotesque scar on the arm. Like the Nakrai, they look like regular people, but at night, they change forms and lurk in the dreams of unsuspecting mortals. Without warriors to keep them stable, mortals would be taken over by Draeteri. Total takeover of Draeteri in humans would instantly mean death to the physical body. Death caused by these demons will turn the soul of the deceased into a Draeteri, gradually feeding off that particular soul’s bad traits and forming it into a monster born of evil.
Throughout all time, the war raging between these two species has been ongoing. Stalemates have been called, and times of peace nearly grasped, but the burning hatred for each other always won out. Today, they still fight each other, in the dead of night where no one can see their affairs.
