i must get my rant out lol
don't bash if you hate my opinion.
(okay so i just copied and pasted the plot from wiki lol)
PLOT
The story follows Ken Kaneki, a college student who meets a woman named Rize Kamishiro at Anteiku in a coffee shop. They share an interest in literature and plan a date. While walking Rize home, Ken is attacked by her. Rize reveals that she is a ghoul, a human-like creature that hunts and devours human flesh. As she is about to finish him off, she is crushed by a falling platform. Kaneki is taken to the hospital in critical condition. The doctor decides to transplant Rize's organs into Ken. He then must deal with life as a half-human/half-ghoul, including interacting with ghoul society and its conflicting factions, while striving to keep his identity secret from other humans.
So the main character from this anime/manga is Kaneki. If you don't know the anime is about humans and ghouls.
"Tokyo lives in fear of creatures called Ghouls. By day, they live as ordinary humans, but by night, they become flesh-eating monsters. When an young man becomes the first Ghoul-human half breed, he must learn to harness his deadly, newfound powers."
Kaneki is that Ghoul-human half breed. I wouldn't say he is a half breed because half breeds are usually like two different creatures of some sort coming together and mating to make a new creature of some sort. Like Inuyasha for example. He's half human and half demon, and he was breed from a human and had a demon father. Which makes him a half breed.
So Kaneki isn't really a half breed because.... As the plot summary states a ghoul woman named Rize is about to finish him off but then she's crushed by a falling platform and he lives but nearly. So the doctor decides to put her organs in replace for his damaged organs. Thus is why Kaneki is half ghoul. Instead of calling him a half breed I felt like it would have been better to name him as just simply Half Ghoul Half Human.
Now we get to Kaneki.... *sigh* in my opinion I felt like Kaneki was useless. I understand that he didn't want to accept who he had become because if he did he'd be labeled a ghoul. But he couldn't claim himself as a human too because he really wasn't human anymore. What made Kaneki useless in my point of view is because he really was useless, he made Ghoul friends and all he did was watch some of them die. I mean I know you don't want to accept but it's better than to see people who you grew so close with die.
It took him One Season and 12 Episodes to finally accept himself for who he is and with that acceptance it gave him strength. I mean there was this one episode where he decided to accept but then.... nothing after... Why did it take 12 episodes and one season!! Now we have to wait for another year for season 2 =_=
The picture I posted above is a picture of Kaneki when he accepted himself. He looks so cool right. Hopefully in the next Season Kaneki shows a more accepting side of himself and actually allow the feelings of Ghouls reach the humans.
This was the very first anime i ever felt frustrated in like from start to ending.
