•i prefer plotting over winging. please pm me for anything that isn't actually rping. when it comes to plotting, i do expect some cooperation from you. don't just go along with what i say, please please provide input. that way we have a plot that we're both totally happy with!
•i prefer rping in 3rd paragraph (nothing crazy long, 1-3 solid paragraphs) but script is okay too. i generally write in 3rd no matter what, but don't let that stop you from doing 1st with script if you'd like.
•reply speed varies with me, especially during the work week. i'm a writing tutor, so i don't always feel like writing here after being burnt out. sorry ;; you don't have to poke me, i always know if i haven't replied. you may, however, poke me if it's been more than two weeks.
•if you think we need to work something out, get back on track, or completely overhaul a plot because it's straying or dying a bit, let me know! i'll do the same for you and we can figure it out together. teamwork makes the dream work, family!
•i don't plot budding romance, that has to come naturally and with chemistry. i also don't really do , definitely not if my character is underage! that said, i'm not opposed to it! we can also imply for the sake of a plot. but again NO MINORS
•finally, when it comes to starting i don't do that whole "you ask, you start thing." if it makes more sense for something to be started from one character's pov, that's who should start.

Background
In a land far from Tradian and Grimor, and even more so from Atlantis, a baby girl named Ying Yue was born in an old abandoned hut on the outskirts of a snow-mountain kingdom called Dadu. Though her mother, a peasant on the run from her abusive husband and in-laws, had every intention of keeping and raising her, the woman died due to complications with birthing a child on her own. Ying Yue was left abandoned in the hut with her mother's corpse for days, left clinging to her own life until she was happened upon by the Daduian king and his wife on their way back from visiting allies. Having recently lost a babe of their own, unknown to the people and just days after being born, the couple were quick to take Ying Yue in. After nursing her back to health, they began to pass her off as their own child so as to dissuade any rumors from the surrounding villages that the king and queen were unlucky and, thus, would bring bad luck to the lands.

Now a princess with a stolen name, Zhu began to live a life far different from the gutter she was born in. Zhu was an incredibly loved child and even when her parents managed to have another child of their own, she was never treated any differently. As she grew older, Zhu was naturally groomed to behave like a princess. She learned all sorts of etiquette and arts, like tapestry, needle-pointing, and calligraphy. Rather progressive and open when it came to women, compared to other kingdoms, she was even taught the art of the sword and hunting. At 13, she was set to marry the young duke that she had been betrothed to since they were 5 and 9. They married in the spring and spent five wonderful years together. Unfortunately, though, Dadu ended up going to war with a long-standing rival. Zhu's husband was killed in battle, alongside her father. With her mother bedridden due to illness, Zhu was left to oversee Dadu on her own.

The bloody, unforgiving war eventually ended after seven years. Dadu came out on top, not due to numbers—for they were a very small country—but due to their incredibly strong and strategic military force. Being able to sit at the top did not come without its drawbacks, however. Dadu was left in financial and literal ruins and Zhu was left with a decision to make. She reached out to a number of allies and potential ones, asking to strengthen ties in the form of marriage: something she hadn't done and refused to do since her beloved died four years prior. Tradian was among the first, and best, to respond positively, as long as they were able to absorb and learn from Dadu's army. Arrangements for marriage were made quickly; despite knowing the good it will do for Dadu, Zhu can't help but feel guilty marrying another.
Personality
Like the calm before the storm, Zhu is quiet, observant, and calculative. She is soft-spoken but her words can sting like a knife when need be. Raised as a warrior princess, she is very active and in tune with nature. She loves going on no-kill hunting trips or simple rides through the mountains; especially now that she lives somewhere where snow isn't a factor 300 days out of the year. Always polite, even Zhu's insults or reprimands seem to have a pleasantness to them.
