Not being able to talk has always been a reason to be an outcast who didn't seem to belong anywhere. He was no good either, so people didn't bother to befriend or help him. One day, a kid his age approached him and handed him a small notebook and a pen with the words "let's be friends.. I talk and you write". From that moment on, Shinwon communicates this way and treasures his current one. The old ones are being burned once they are completely full to ensure no one ever reads them without permission.
This kid disappeared though and the male started wandering until he found a pack where he was needed and could help, his disability being an advantage since he can't spill secrets as a Pi.
