she was just fourteen, an easy target, weakened by the countless pills they force fed to sedate her despite her docile temperament, unable to fight back, and that's exactly what her doctor had been waiting for. someone powerless, someone he knew he could scare into keeping quiet. Occasionally her parents would call the hospital to check on her, every time he'd tell them that their daughter's condition was worsening, that they were doing everything they could but discharging her would be a danger to other's and alycia herself.  By this time the girl had lost hope, he'd told her that her parents hadn't made a single attempt to contact her and she was foolish enough to believe him. Alycia blamed herself of course, if she hadn't been so unstable she wouldn't be here, if she hadn't been so weak she would have escaped. no matter the issue, there was always a way it could have boiled down to her own ineptitude. Had it not been for a whistle blower leaking rumours of abuse in the hospital to the local press, alycia was sure she'd never see the outside world again. Though upon returning home, she wasn't sure that was such a bad thing.

The girl never felt so fragile, like so much of a burden as she did when everyone around her would treat her as though she were made of glass. People worried about her 24/7, her parents were suffocating her with how incredibly over protective they had become, her independence was non-existent. She'd had to beg them to allow her to get a job, even then they'd insisted it be something close to home. An assistant in a florists, it hasn't exactly been her dream job, but it got her out the house and gave her something creative to focus her energy on. It had been a last resort when Alycia registered to be a sugar baby, she didn't want money, nor did she want expensive gifts, instead, the only thing she wished for was love. The kind of love that made every single second of suffering worth it, the kind of love she'd read about in those stupid books she'd swoon over as a preteen, the kind of love she no longer believed in.
