Raised in a country-side orphanage, run by one elderly man and his dog, Donghan stuck to the silent halls and quiet woods for company. He wasn't much for playing with the other boys. As they all hoped to be adopted, Donghan opted to hide away from visitors behind walls and in the attic. He felt safe in his little bubble — afraid at the very thought of puncturing it.

When the orphanage finally closed down he was the only "child" left at the age of 15. Young and with nothing to his name Donghan migrated to the city with the old man, eventually living with him and taking up work at one small historical library. Practically no one came in, making it easy for the dhampir to work without a degree, or worry about making physical contact.

Haphepobia ; the fear of touching others and of being touched.

Donghan's had such a fear ever since he was a kid. Why? He himself doesn't know (or refuses to remember) the reason, but it leaves him incapable of touching others. 

At least, outside of a certain context. As some-thing inhuman it's obvious that Donghan needs touch to survive, feeding himself through the fights he picks at seedy bars and busy clubs. It's a lot easier to focus on the anger of being hit in the face, than the fear of someone's breath against his skin. Deep down he's really not the antagonizing bastard he makes himself out to be, but if Donghan wants to survive then he'll either have to fight or get over his feaR...

and fighting is the easier of the two.
