Donggu was born at the tail end of the summer of '93 to the current village head and his wife. He went on to be their only child and because of this, one would think that he grew up to be quite spoiled and pretentious. That is not the case, though; instead, Donggu grew up being someone that was friendly and open to everyone, no matter how much older or younger they were than him. He's still like this today, but it's a lot harder to see as the frequency of new people for him to meet decreased over the years.

Mildly dyslexic, Donggu struggled a lot in school and it wore a bit on his self-esteem. Rather than focusing on academics, he turned his attention to his hobbies. Taking up soccer was the thing that kept Donggu sane as he pushed his way through school which only proved to get harder and harder as the years went on. He proved himself to be quite talented with the sport and he was prepared to take it on professionally after he completed his military service. School just wasn't for him, so he'd never considered college at all.

Going into his mandatory service immediately after high school, Donggu only thought of two things while he was away: soccer and the family and friends that he missed so much. His soccer dream, however, was crushed one day in the home stretch of his service. He ended up seriously injuring his leg and though it healed up, he was never able to run and kick quite the same way. Even now, he walks with a slight limp.

Donggu takes all of this in stride though. He may not be able to play soccer professionally, but he's quite content with the slow life in Dangnan. He's picked up other hobbies and learned various skills to keep himself occupied, his favorites being photography and guitar (his currently teaching himself to play).

His innate friendliness makes him the perfect person to function as an occasional middleman for his father and the village's other citizens. Mr. Yoon is a nice man, but he's got a gruff exterior, so people usually feel more comfortable coming to bright, smiley Donggu with their problems. He works as the village handyman part time and this job allows him to use his quick learning abilities and numerous skills to help those that he considers a super-extended family in whatever way he can. Even if he doesn't know something, it's a quick web search away and he's always happy to help.

On the days that he isn't fixing a fence or helping out on the port, he's napping in the flower fields in the valley of Gangsan with his dog, Danbi, kicking around a ball, taking pictures, plucking some inspiration, or bringing lunch to his beautiful girlfriend. Life is really simple for Yoon Donggu - no super traumatic past and no current pressures - and he honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

01. i definitely prefer plot over wing and PMs over wall so I can keep track of it all. i do expect some cooperation when it comes to plotting as well. i want us to have a plot that we're both happy with. otherwise, it's no fun for someone. if you don't like something/something doesn't work with your character, tell me and i'd do the same.
02. i prefer 3rd, paragraph but nothing incredibly long. two or three solid ones are perfectly fine.
03. reply speed varies because i like to give my best and i might be held up with stuff or just not having an idea of what to say right away. you don't have to poke me, i'm literally always thinking about it when i haven't replied and i promise to get back to you.
04. if you feel like we need to work out some kinks, get back on track, or completely overhaul because the plot is straying or dying a bit, tell me! i'd do the same for you. we can figure it out together. team work makes the dream work, my dudes.
05. i don't plot budding romance, that has to come naturally between our characters. however, if it's something in the past or already established, that's fine by me. any that happens should NEVER be with minors.
06. finally, when it comes to starting, i don't do any of that "you ask, you start" stuff. if it makes sense for the plot to start with a certain character, that's who should start.
