despite the ravishing good looks and debonair, devil-may-care attitude, the doctor is a good man - or at least, he likes to think he is.
what started out innocently enough as a cornering of the market on tourism plastic surgery soon grew into so much more, and before he realized it, he was the head of a network of people - doctors, honeypots, willing poor, and travelers - connecting everyone with his skills in surgery, to give the rich what they wanted at the expense of the poor and languishing in the world.
A famed plastic surgeon, Goongmin worked hard to ensure his title was well earned, and every surgery he performed was a success. It grew to such a point that he was the man that scorned patients sought out to fix their botched procedures. he gladly took on each task, treating his patients like they were family, and he, in his own special way, was giving them a second chance at the life they wanted to live with their dreams. His good reputation spread, and he became the most booked doctor with overseas patients as well, doing everything from rhinoplasty to tummy tucks to gender reassignment surgery. This soon began to branch into more... specific requests. he began getting patients that wanted him to do organ transplants, and were willing to pay millions of won to get them, no questions asked. The first time he did it, he felt... odd. It wasn't a breach of his oath to do no harm as long as the person giving up the organ was willing, right?
Eventually, he ran out of willing victims, and began to hire middlemen to source his organs. With a steady supply of good, medically cleared organs, his prices began to rise, and the foundation for his empire was set. it took five long years to work up his reputation, but now dr. nam is the name nearly everyone in the city knows. if you have money and need surgery done without a paper trail, he's your guy. organs, plastic surgery, patching up broken bones and digging out bullets... He takes any case if the pay is right.

bordering between a gentleman and a father figure, goongmin is jovial and has a very broad sense of humor about the whole thing, gang life and organ markets. Some say it's dark, he says it's a coping mechanism. if he didn't find the humor in the situations he'd made for himself, he would probably be very distraught. his business runs with him as the cornerstone, so he's not looking for love or romance. Even is taxing as an activity that he doesn't have time for or really need, so he's content without it.
