she tries. she really, honestly tries. she's been trying, ever since her bending ability really began to grow. but in truth, she never really had a hold on anything. coming from a humble family, she wasn't anyone particularly important to everyone else. if anything, she was the comedic relief. she was the one not smart enough to figure out how to bend the water, how to create ice, nothing that a regular water bender could do. it was mindboggling to anyone that knew her: she had the form, the slow graceful movements, the gentle motions, everything that would normally make someone a great bender. if anything, she had everything that could make her a perfect water bender. but there was always something within her that wasn't clicking right, and it plagues her to this day. a general inability to control her abilities makes it difficult for her to do much more than form a ball of water in her hands and make it jiggle in the air. really, all she wants is to feel important in the world, to someone. because she's never done anything important (except that one time she fell out of a tree and landed on a kid bullying one of her friends).
