The sadness that
became a home

When I step past my door frame, I get dizzy
Because it’s the border to my comfort zone
The useless emotions that dirty my heart is covered with dust
If I get out of here, there’s death
Because I disliked the unfamiliar happiness more than the familiar sadness, I threw away my footsteps
I worry that I’ll become a pair of worn shoes
Because the world, time, people twistedly wear me
I forget. Like the heaps of newspapers and bills in front of my door,
Don’t leave the thoughts and demands of the world in front of me
This is my home – leave me alone
Just don’t come in here

oeun's childhood wasn't the most fulfilling of childhoods. She woke up in the mornings in a dingy one-bedroom apartment to the sound of her mother's cheerful voice and was prepared for the day with her little brother, being given whatever breakfast the woman could rustle up. Once the two of them were sent to school, Goeun wouldn't see her mom again until the next morning, being somewhat watched over by a neighbor whenever he could pop in. Goeun did most of the childcare, raising both herself and her brother, but she was okay with it. Having to mature early, she understood their situation and she never held any resentment for her mother.

By 15, Goeun was the woman of the house. Her mom showed up less and less and Goeun and her brother would easily go 4 days without seeing the woman. This was no cause for concern until their mother disappeared altogether. It had been almost two weeks when Goeun decided something was amiss. She reported her mother's disappearance to the police but the case eventually ran cold, leaving the two Kim children to be sent to an orphanage. Though plagued by nightmares, Goeun continued living her life as normally as she could. She kept up her grades and stood as a rock for her little brother until he was adopted by a family in London. She was never adopted and with no one left to stay strong for, Goeun began changing.

Goeun's grades slipped and she became isolated from her peers, even the ones she considered her best friends. She eventually turned to people outside for some semblance of companionship. It started with petty thieves and druggies, but all of that stopped when she met one man in particular. He was 10 years her senior and made a sizable amount of money and he was actually interested in her! He seemed too good to be true and he was. If Goeun had known what she'd eventually be trapped with, she would have stayed with the degenerates. He was the worst thing to ever happened to her.

The man, whose name she refuses to ever repeat, seemed sweet enough in the beginning. He helped her get her life on track, clothing and feeding her and even getting her out of the drug addiction she had started to develop. He was a dream come true for a struggling 16-year-old but, about half a year into the relationship, he turned sour. The man began abusing Goeun, both physically and emotionally. She still has scars to this day from his abuses. Goeun, with nowhere to turn, found herself unable to leave. She was stuck with him for seven years until she found out that she was pregnant. His abuse was particularly bad that night and Goeun simply snapped, the weight of her experiences stretching the cord too thin and the only thought in her mind being protecting her unborn baby. She initially hit him over the head with a lamp, something that could be easily passed as self-defense, but proceeded to stab the unconscious man over 30 times, killing him.

Goeun sat on the blood-soaked floor for over an hour, letting her actions sink in. Once she regained her wits, she ran. She ran and got onto a train, not caring where she ended up, until she found herself in Grayhaven. She was never caught, never convicted but that man was her only family and Goeun found herself on the streets at barely 23 years old. She got by at first by stealing what she needed and then she was exposed to the tricks of the homeless world and she got by through much better means. Still, this was barely enough for survival as someone that was eating and living for two. Goeun scraped by for the larger part of a year until she was found by the founding member of Shi no Hana who offered her asylum.

Goeun refused, not wanting to get close to any other people but Shinji persisted. Goeun, however, was steadfast. SnH eventually gave up on trying to help, but Goeun found enough money to buy a studio apartment in her things that night. Now, Goeun was housed and her son was born healthy, but she needed money to support the household. Unfortunately, she didn't have the credentials for a proper job and didn't want to rely on others more than she had to because of the last time she fully trusted someone. She didn't care how she got the money, so she found herself as the newest piece under the care of a Madame of a lucritive call girl agency, occasionally handed off to the clubs and casinos for certain occasions. She also does a lot of outcall via the agency's website.

Every night, Goeun bears the weight of this job so that she can put food on the table, pay rent, pay bills and keep Mingun healthy. After paying all of these expenses, it's barely enough to get through the rest of the week. As much as she would love to try reinventing herself somewhere, it's just not possible without the money so she's stuck in the hell on Earth that is Grayhaven.

who they are.
their personality.

basic summary.

Goeun is a rather reserved person, something she's learned as the best option for her own survival. She's not one to start a conversation, nor is she willing to trust someone easily. Quietness aside, Goeun won't let someone walk over her. Not anymore. She has a sharp tongue and an even sharper blade for when things come to either extreme. She'd also do anything to keep her son, Mingun, safe. She briefly had a stint where she was hooked on opiods but Mingun got taken away briefly by CPS and she elected to sober herself up. These days, she deals with a lot of her stresses through painting and tending to the window box garden the two of them started. Had her life not taken such an awful turn, she'd have liked to be an artist. Despite the healthier coping mechanisms, Goeun is still heavily affected by her past and current life. She's severely depressed but forces herself to push on for the sake of her son.

Kim Mingun was born in the winter of 2016, during one of the darkest times of his mom's life. After he was born, Goeun went through an awful postpartem period where she got hooked on drugs to deal with the depression and Mingun was taken away. This was a major wake up call for Goeun and since then, she's done everything she can to care for her son to the best of her ability. There are days where Goeun feels bad for her son and feels like she's a terrible mother but she can't seem to give him up for a better life. He's all she has. Mingun is the light of Goeun's life and she's sure that she'd be buried somewhere had it not been for his arrival into her life.

Before You Approach Me

•.*★ important。 Try to have a least a little inkling of something in mind and read my profile before pm-ing me. If you'd like, send me a random starter; just let me know that's what it is.

Writing & Plotting Style

•.*★ writing style。 I do script and semipara to para. All are generally done in 3rd. Lengthwise, I end up writing anywhere between 1 and 4 paras. It depends on muse, mood, and how many plots I have in general. I never try to match, you shouldn't feel like you have to either.

•.*★ plotting style。 I prefer plotting over winging most times, but I can wing. Because of this, I'll often do vague-ish plots that provide enough detail for you, but also give me enough room to play with our ideas. I also don't typically approach people unless I have a plot or idea in mind, and I really like when people do the same. Saves a lot of time.

Starting should always depend on logic. If it makes more sense for something to start from your characters point of view, I'd strongly prefer that you start. The same goes for me.

•.*★ miscellaneous。 Any should never be with minors. We also don't have to because a plot can still go on with implied , i'm all for skipping it if you want. With that in mind, some of my characters tend to be aual.

Activity & Reply Speed

•.*★ important。 I edit and tutor for writing for a living so i get burnt out reading blocks of text. Don't poke me if it hasn't been a week, ever.

Just like with how much I write, how quickly I write depends on muse, mood, and how many other things I have to reply to. We can always drop/pick up our thread(s), but communication is key!

Location Preferences

I like rooms over walls and walls over pm. Most plots I do are public friendly too, and when they aren't, I take them to walls/PMs. Sometimes i like to move rooms as the plot calls for it, it's immersive.
