jaehyun was born in vancouver, canada into an average middle class family. both his parents were teachers, making barely enough to support him and his sister, born deaf. it is through his younger sister that he learned ASl, though he rarely uses it without her. 

growing up, his parents had always encouraged him to follow a career which would be practical and rewarding: the medical field, engineering, accounting. as a precocious kid, jaehyun did well in school, thus following his parents' desires. it wasn't until high school that he found, he was never meant to make their dreams come true: he loved writing. 

it was his passion, the only thing he knew he wanted to do after high school. therefore, having won awards and recognitions at numerous writing competitions, jaehyun went to college to study literature and writing. despite his parents' quiet disapproval, it was what made him happy. 

in college, jaehyun fell in love. 

he found her, his muse. a dancer, she inspired his every movement, every word. at twenty-one, they were engaged. they would live their starving artists' life together. it was ok, he told himself. he had gone into journalism, despite his passion being in creating his own art. it was to support them, and that was ok. anywhere she was, he would go willingly. 

until, she went to a place where he could not follow. 

four months and six days before they were to be wed, jaehyun's fiancee was involved in a staging accident which took her life. invites were rescinded, photographs were hidden away into boxes, jaehyun's muse was lost. 

fueled by the loss of his lover, jaehyun quit his job as a journalist and began freelance work. he busied himself in his writing, hoping to silently fill the void. 

two years have passed since then. the burden gets heavier, though her anniversary approaches once again. hoping to find inspiration once again, jaehyun goes on vacation.

jaehyun is very well-spoken, and takes great consideration into his words before speaking. careful never to hurt with his words, jaehyun applies careful thought into his speech. he is a generally open and friendly guy, though he rarely speaks of his past and his widowed status. very easy-going, he enjoys talking to and meeting new people. however, as an introvert, there can be times were he will disappear for multiple days to be alone just for the sake of it. though he is generally very well-tempered, he is not afraid to argue and will debate to no end.

jaehyun's fiancee was a classically trained ballerina, whom he met in university. she loved classical music. her favorite flowers were lillies. she had been dancing since she was five years old.

writing/plotting style

• i don't have a preference of plot or wing. either one works for me. either pov is great!
• i don't have a preference for plot complexity either. i completely love simple plots, so that we can see where the characters take themselves naturally. however, i'm also down for super intricate and detailed plots as well!
• in third, i tend to para to novella. i try to mirror length but sometimes get ahead of myself lol 

activity reply speed

• replies vary based on my availability and muse for our plot.
• feel free to poke me once five days have passed. don't be offended if i reply to someone else, and not you. sometimes the length is shorter so it's easier for me to reply, or maybe i'm more invested in that plot/have more muse for that plot. i won't forget you!
