YOU SHOULD KNOW WHERE I'M COMING FROM
→ born into a family of writers. justice's mother was an author and his father was a journalist. his maternal grandfather was also an author.
→ he was expected to follow in the family footsteps of professional writing.
→ raised to love literature, justice spent a lot of his childhood with his nose in a book rather than playing with other kids.
→ he grew up lonely as a result; didn't really have friends, was kind of an outcast.
→ and while he grew up reading and loved to read, justice wasn't really interested in journalism or writing books, which were the fields his parents pressured him toward.
→ he was more interested in movies and television, which was where he decided his writing career would bloom.
→ this was something he didn't tell either of his parents.
→ when justice graduated from high school, he went to ucla to pursue a degree in screenwriting.
→ justice entered ucla for a screenwriting degree with the full intentions of writing amazing scripts to make his parents proud of him. unfortunately, things didn't work out like that.
→ when justice's parents found out that his degree would be in screenwriting, neither of them were supportive of the idea.
→ his father, surprisingly, was even angrier than his mother was, calling the degree a waste of time.
→ justice and his parents fought through the entire first year of his college career, leaving him mentally and emotionally exhausted.
→ the only friend he had in that first year was his roommate, who picked up the pieces after every fight.
→ but in the second year, justice's parents stopped yelling and just started making hurtful remarks. justice stopped going home on breaks.
→ his determination to make his parents proud of him with his amazing scripts faded as he went through his schooling. being there felt like a chore.
→ and as terrible, cheesy shows began to grow popular, justice had an idea to get back at them. his father had told him once that justice was going to ruin their name and embarrass their family, so he was going to make good on that.
→ he graduated from ucla and started his writing career – it launched with a show like riverdale, with cringey, terrible, cheesey writing and yet it was infectious. it was popular.
→ he moved on to write more and eventually moved into bellevue, wanting to get inspiration for a new project, one even worse than all of his last. he started his new project based off of the behavior of the celebrities surrounding him, intent on making this his magnum opus – and the work that would well and truly make his parents regret ever putting him down for trying to make them proud of him.
→ likes books, music, cats, animals in general, plants (proud plant parent), online shopping,
→ dislikes the expectations of his parents, dogs, going to the grocery store,
→ habits running his hands through his hair, biting the end of his pen when he's thinking in the middle of a writing session, talking to himself, starting a thought out loud and finishing it in his head, exclaiming "ah!" when something inspires him, doodling on the edges of his paper if he's having creative troubles

→ trivia he saves everyone in his phone under a special contact name. he's never been in the closet about his uality. at one point, he had his parents' numbers blocked. he's heard all the jokes about his name in the books, so he just sighs at them now. his favorite number is 6. he has an unhealthy obsession with iced coffees and probably has more caffeine than water in his veins. he's not a big "date" person, he just wants to curl up, cuddle and watch movies. a cuddle monster, he lives for phsical affection. he has glasses. he has no siblings. tba.

→ whenever someone makes a video or blog about the writing of one of his shows (again riverdale inspired) justice just laughs. he's succeeding.
→ justice loves to write in an active environment, preferably with his earbuds so he can drown everything out.
→ he has a really good memory, so he can store away any amusing events he wants to put in his stories.
→ he writes everything by hand first. he's left-handed and has very neat writing.

→ he also writes on wide-rule paper, very small, so he can fit lots of editing in

→ can't write when he doesn't have very specific pens and paper, has literally had meltdowns without them

→ he kinda keeps what he writes a secret, because it's more fun that way. and they're natural when they don't know they're fueling an even worse show.
→ certainly not the most outgoing but also not the most reserved resident. doesn't know everyone personally but knows the people on his floor by name.
