-- being put on an island and being forced to engage in a life or death battle has to be the most exciting thing to happen in sayuri's life up until this point. hirabayashi sayuri was born as the only child to an upper class couple. born with an eidetic memory, sayuri was "that kid" growing up. incredibly smart but with a lack of social skills; sociallising with her classmates never seemed too important and her parents also assured her this. due to her lack of social engagement with her classmates, sayuri has a tendancy to come off as very cold and slightly arrogant but that's because she sort of is. sayuri has a habit of basing people's worth off of intelligence and thinking that she's the smartest of the bunch so if you're not very smart, sayuri's most likely not your biggest fan.by no means is she shy, she's just a quiet one.
-- as odd is it may seem for a girl her age, sayuri has a mild fascination with killers ( though, she's sure she'd never have the stomach for doing the deed herself ) so her knowledge of weapon use and the best way to use them is actually fairly good. her current weapon is grenades which she does know how to use though it isn't what she would have wanted. her parents actually took part in shooting as a hobby while she was growing up so she has avid knowledge of firearms and how they work. hand to hand combat would be a weakness of hers as she's not very physically strong - she's a mind over body type of girl. before all of this happened, sayuri had plans to become a doctor after schooling so her medical knowledge also isn't bad.
