The buzzing of a hundred courtier voices was replaced by harsh whispers and imagined screams; walls oozed with tears and blood and threatened to soil his pure-white shoes. His thick garments weighed him down to the throne, where the crown sat crooked on his head. He stared into oblivion, remembering when he thought overthrowing this kingdom was his destiny; the destruction of the navy, of the royal family was more gruesome than he imagined, and now that he sat alone with his reeling mind, he desired a servant.
He pulled the long tassel that triggered a bell, echoing into the servant's quarters.
