Audition Room

Kris stepped up to the white line laying in front of him and nine others. He gulped nervously, ad he introduced himself by stating his name, age, and what song he was going to sing.

"Hello," he said as he bowed to the camera. "My name is Kris Wu, and I'm 20." He looked straight and made eye contact with the camera man.

"I'm going to be singing Rainbow by Jay Chou." He said as he smiled and bowed once again. Kris inhaled deeply, and then began singing with the deep voice of his the beginning, as he softened his voice for the rest.

When he got to the rap part, he spoke softly and almost sang it, but he technically didn't. As the music ended, he ended it with a large grin, and a bow.

"So I lay my head back down...". The music that had once filled Suzy's hearing soon vanished as her pink headphones were violently yanked from her ears, her face pinched from calm and relaxed to twisted and piercing. Her eyes burned against her younger brother's skin as she shot her deadly gaze at him. "Jiho!" she shouted, annoyed. The young boy let out an elated laugh, the gap that once held his two front teeth beaming as his mouth opened. Sighing deeply, Suzy reached over, squeezing the lobe of the younger boy's ear between her fingers and yanking him into the vacant seat beside her.
"Jiho, behave! Remember that I only brought you here because mom had to work; if I need to I'll drop you right back at home if you can't sit down and shut up." Suzy threatened, holding her eyes against his. But Jiho was a smartass in short, and didn't take long to fire back with extra attitude.
"Your auditions in two minutes! You don't have enough time. So you're stuck with me whether you like it or not, haha!". With that said, Jiho got back up and continued to explore the waiting room.

They had gotten here 15 minutes ago. It took forever to pick up Jiho from school and even longer to feed him since he had such a specific preference in food Suzy had not quite grasped yet. The time had ticked and tocked away until it was 2 minutes before her audition. She had used the time to play her audition song on loop, ensuring she had memorized it word for word, key to key.

"Number 425! 425?" the announcer had read aloud. Suzy was so startled, she had not realized the paper that stuck to her black sweater had large numbers printed on the front: "425". Jiho was still fumbling about, so Suzy needed to think fast. Pushing on her palms till she had freed herself from the hard, plastic chair she had been sitting on; Suzy approached Jiho, grabbing his arm and dragging him to another chair opposite to the ones they occupied earlier. She sat him down and knelt to face him without fulling meeting the floor and handed him her iPod. "Play some games, I'll be out in a few minutes, okay?". He reluctantly complied, despite being such a pain earlier, and kissed his sister's cheek good luck. He meant it.

Suzy smoothed the wrinkles in her sweater, used her fingers as a comb to run through her tangle free brown hair, and adjusted the paper neatly before entering the audition room. She felt herself sweating in her red converse as she stepped up to the mic. Suzy's nerves were now bewildered, pushing her to the verge of choking on the first words she had tried to spit out. But was closing. Closing her eyes, Suzy drew in a deep breath, an image of her mother painted in her mind. She smiled.

"Hello, I'm Bae Suzy. I'm 18 years old and I'm from Busan. Today I'll be singing 'Only Hope' by Mandy Moore from the 'A Walk to Remember' soundtrack." Suzy confidently said. She heard the click in the back, indicating the track had started. The CD played, music blared, and Suzy did what she did best; sung.

Inhaling heavily, Soyeon took one last glance at the lyric sheet, and then adjusted her zebra-print suspenders and then her black crop top. "You can do it Soyeon. Hwaiting!" She thought, entering the stage immediately after her name was called.

"Annyeonghaseyo, Bang Soyeon imnida. I'm turning 20 in June and I will be performing Expectations." Soyeon bowed and got into position. As the music started to play through the speakers, Soyeon let herself get lost in the music. She danced without a mistake, but she missed a note at one point. Despite the flaw, she continued on, panting lightly at her last position and beaming confidently as she walked off the stage.

Yejin fiddled with her thumbs as she sat in the waiting room, hunched over her music score. She knew it wasn't very professional of her to only practice at the eleventh hour, but last-minute practice gave her that mindset that she needed to put an extra effort in, which always worked. She inhaled sharply, doing the same when she exhaled after and then stood up when she heard her name and line number get called. She patted her long white fairy-dress with black-and-gold accents along the lace trimming and straps. It was rather chilly, but her excitement managed to keep her with a mental thought of warmth.

Stepping into the room with a mahogany stage, she headed up the platform. "Annyeonghaseyo, Lee Yejin imnida! I'm Korean-American. My English name is Amy, and I'm turning 18 in May! I will be singing Halo by Beyonce, and I am confident I will pass!" She spoke confidently, before bowing and starting to sing. The familiar notes started playing as the young lady started to sing with the background music. Her voice was smooth and balanced out, flawless even, but she went too high one line after the last chorus where there was a high note. But, nevertheless, Yejin stayed calm and waited for the judges to signal her off stage after she finished.

Walking up the stage confidently after being called , she stood in the middle and bowed 90 degrees before greeting the judges. "Annyeonghaseyo~ Clover Yang imnida. I'm turning 23 in March. Today , I'll be dancing a song being played randomly in my phone." She said , then put her phone into play; not knowing which song is going to be played but sure she love to challenge herself like this.

A slight smirk appeared on her lips as she immediately recognized the song; "Get Your Hands Up" by Fergie. The latter started to dance showing her flexibility along with it. "It seems that the ballet class did pay off huh?" Clover silently thought as she lay down on the floor and got up again with a sleek move. Finally , she stood up and did her final pose confidently.

Tia paced the floor outside the audition room. Gripping her dewy, cold water bottle she knew that the water she felt on her palms wasn't only from the bottle. Taking a deep breath and unscrewing the cap, she took a swig, holding it in for a second before swallowing, focusing on the cooling sensation and trying to let that calm her down.

She focused herself on fixing herself up to look as presentable as she could, tugging her green shirt into place before hearing the lady all her name and number out. Taking one last drink of water, draining the contents of the bottle she nodded politely at the woman before tossing the bottle away. Following her into the room, Tia did her ritual of wiggling her fingers to get rid of all her nerves as subtly as she could.

Then turning to face the people ahead of her, trying not to focus on the fact that they held her dreams and immediate future in her hands she bowed a respectful 90 degrees and smiled as cutely as she could. "Annyeonghaseyo. Cuevas Tia imnida. I'm 18 years old and I'll be performing a quick dance for you to one of my favorite songs by the Black Eyed Peas. I hope what you see tonight proves that I am ready for my debut and allows me to pass your audition."

Turning slightly and getting into her first position, Tia's cute smile fell and a fire came into her eyes. She wanted this bad, and as she danced she intended to prove it in every move. And as the music took over her whole body, her hair whirling as she twirled and moved about, Tia prayed that they saw in her moves the fire that Tia felt in herself. The ambition she had had for so long: The ambition to be an Idol.

Jaeyeon walked back and forth outside thw audition room, holding her fake microphone and heavily breathing gasps of air before exhaling it, doing it over and over again. She saw the door of the room opened and straightened herself. She looked at the number written on the piece of paper that clung on her stomach through the red sweater she was wearing. She heard her name being called followed by the number on the paper. She inhaled another gust of air and closed her eyes. Wishing that she would pass the audition and become the star she had always dreamed to be. After exhaling the air she had breathed in earlier, she placed her microphine down and walked confidently towards the room. Being handed the wireless microphone, she walked up the stage and stood in the middle, where there was a large dot signalling to stand on it. Jaeyeon held the microphone close to and introduced herself. "Annyeonghaseyo~" She said and bowed a good 90 degree angle, "My name is Kang Jaeyeon. I am 17, this year, and I hope to pass this audition with my flawless rapping and dancing" She ended her introduction with a confident smile. After being asked what song she was singing, she answered, "Naliliya"
The song started and Jaeyeon got into position before flawlessly rappig and dancing to it.

Jihyun inhaled sharply as she stepped slowly into the room, bowing at each of the judges. "Annyeonghaseyo! Lee Taeyeon imnida. I'm 18, turning 19 this Christmas, and I will be singing and dancing to 'Lies' today. Kamsamhnida." She bowed once more and smiled prettily as the music she had been practicing with for the past few weeks played.

"Dasi naege dolawa..." Jihyun ended with the back of her hand pressed to her forehead. She stood up straight and bowed. "Kamsamhnida!" A pretty smile donned her face, matching her white, long-sleeved lace blouse and a matching white-pleated skirt which ended just above her knees. She walked out, proud of herself for being brave enough to be able to perform for the judges.

[T] Kwon Yuri: Yuri walks in after praying with complete concentration into what she's about to do, trying to stick in her mind that she's been given a shot in actually achieving her dreams and now as she walks slowly to the front, she tells herself "Ya! Don't screw this up. You can do this!" then preceded by a nod. She composes herself one last time as she faces the judges. "G-good afternoon to all of you." she said as she slowly bows. "My name is Kwon Yuri, 18 years young.. about to turn 19. I truly think I have what it takes to be a superstar." she said nervously "Oh.. a-and I'm gonna do a dance presentation." she added.

It was an American song: Pitbull's Go Girl.

Once Yuri heard the song start, her body moved on it's own. It was as if she was performing to her own song. She danced with swag and confidence, her heart full of passion and hope with a hint of faith. As the song ended, she raised her hand, did a snap then turned around only to turn again and face the judges and bow 90º.
