symptoms through the decade
symptoms of the virus
one year — no visible symptoms, aside from the bite wound scarring and bruising despite having "healed." throughout the process, the bite wound will appear worse and worse, and may ache occasionally.
two years — constant migraines and erratic mood swings. the bite wound will hurt worse than before, and occasionally go numb. the infected may have more energy, and find themselves restless from time to time.
three years — mood swings will become normal. the infected will gain more endurance, speed, strength, and will develop a higher pain tolerance.
four years — vision will begin to worsen. food will lose its taste. hearing and smell will improve. infected may become more violent and volatile, and display symptoms of mania, depression, apathy, or aggression. in some cases, all four occur.
five years — throughout the year, the infected will lose the ability to read, as the letters blur together. may have a difficult time distinguishing faces, and can only see when the subject is very close by.
six years — colors will begin to fade. the infected will slowly becomme colorblind, until everything fades to grey. mood swings and violent fits are more rampant than ever. physically, the infected will be in better shape than ever.
seven years — will have seizures and develop short term memory loss. infected will most likely be inclined to bite others, and lash out at those around them.
eight years — manic episodes occur almost daily. like dementia, infected will eventually have moments of "being themselves" again. will lose sense of vision and taste completely. sense of hearing and smell will be perfect.
nine years — infected will lose their sense of pain. bite wound may begin to pulse and bleed once more, occasionally producing pus. aside from these symptoms, infected will seemingly go back to normal, no longer having manic episodes and "being themselves" again.
ten years — infected will die. after all organs shut down, they will become a more advanced version of the original infected; stronger, smarter, faster.
