so i guess culture and media do condition us more than just... it being an evolution thing

at the same time, there have been studies where researches asked participants from different countries and backgrounds to describe their ideal "face"/beauty type and there seems to be a lot of overlap between cultures

then again, these are probably recent studies, and media has become very global

also i Did not know that the waist-to-hip-ratio being a measure of attractiveness was so heavily debated, and apparently there's no conclusive evidence for it to support the narrative that evolution is what defines our beauty standards

currently wondering if our beauty standards are influenced by biology and innate needs vs. being influenced by culture, media, and conditioning within cultures

or if it's a mix of both
