the setting: cupid central
Cupid Central is a large corporate building situated in the glittering clouds of Heaven. Angels from all different sectors of Heaven work here, gaining the title Cupid as they join the mission to guide the relationships of humans on Earth.
Similar to a business on Earth all Cupids are expected to arrive at work on time and take their work seriously. This is a professional environment after all! Cupids can be given tasks at any time; promoted or demoted at the drop of a dime; and yes, even fired from the Cupid Central project if they can't keep up.

the mission: facilitating human relationships
While different Cupids have different jobs, all of them are working towards one goal: to swiftly, efficiently and successfully facilitate the relationships of Humans. There is a strict process that Cupid Central follows to carry out this mission.
The Almighty sends a list of Humans along with their current relationships and their relationships that need to be created/altered to the Cupid Central High Manager. This list is divided based on various factors such as the relationship type (romantic, platonic, familial, self, etc.) and whether the upcoming changes are to be positive or negative. The sub-divided versions of this list are passed onto their respective teams where Cupids working in the office will keep track of the paperwork and reporting, and Cupids on the ground will use Heavenly weapons to carry out operations on Earth.
(And yes, whether an operation is considered a success or a failure affects the pay of all Angels involved, so you better hope you do it right!)

angelic origins
created angels
Angels that were crafted by the hands of the Almighty and born in Heaven. They have been an angel for their entire life and typically have known no other home than the cloudy, sparkling version of Heaven they live and work in. A created angel is not birthed from the union of two angels or an angel and another creature; all created angels come directly from the Almighty's hands.
ascended angels
Angels that were originally human, but considered either so kind OR so devout that they became angels upon their death. Although they are now seen as an angel in every way that matters, due to their origins they are not always welcomed by created angels.
forgiven angels
Angels that descended with Morningstar to Hell after rebelling against the Almighty. For reasons currently unknown these previously fallen angels (sometimes referred to as demons) have requested forgiveness from the Almighty and it was granted. This forgiveness revoked their fallen status and allowed them to return to Heaven.
cupid roles
office workers
These are the angels that manage the ins and outs of Cupid Central. The paper pushers and the errand runners that keep track of the information coming into and out of the office. There's also managers, team leaders, ITS employees, etc. No matter the role these are the angels that ensure Cupid Central is running in tip-top shape and meeting its quotas.
field agents
These are the angels that carry out the missions for Cupid Central, facilitating the relationships between humans on Earth. Most field agents are dressed in tactical gear and use Heavenly weapons to take aim at humans with their Connection Bolts. The job of a field agent is to create, alter and/or sever the emotional links between humans.
