@Chen Despite wanting to lure the boy out of his horrid dreamland, the sudden way Jongdae's eyes had suddenly snapped open and immediately trained on him had startled him, the older man unable to get a word in before the younger had latched onto him. Yet even if he had known what the other would have done ahead of time, Kris would still try to provide solace. Though that didn't really help his awkwardness. He had always been more of the maintenance man around the orphanage, rather than the caretaker. Kris gazed down at the sobbing mess in his lap, reluctantly lowering a large hand and stroking the tousled tresses, his other hand raising and comfortingly rubbing the small of the Korean's back. "Don't apologize. You did nothing wrong."

@Kris Jongdae's back ached slightly as the vivid images flashed through his mind and he began crying softly. Everything hurt, from his mind to his body to his heart. Suddenly, he felt himself being shaken and he heard a foreign voice call out his real name. His parents' faces began to blur out before all he could see was black.

Snapping his eyes open, Jongdae gasped and stared up at the figure in front of him. He was drenched in sweat and his face was wet from the tears that were still falling front his face. Jongdae was breathing heavily and he stared up at the male who was shaking him. Without registering who it was, Jongdae sat up and wrapped his arms around the person's waist, burying his face into his chest. Jongdae hugged the male tightly and began to sob quietly, the images of his parents beating him still fresh in his mind. "I-I'm sorry..." He whispered and continued to sob.

@Chen Kris was working late tonight, staying in one of the vacant rooms for the evening since his own home was on the other side of town. He had been assorting legal paperwork for the past hour, and unfortunately, he was already done. It was just that not many of the kids here were adopted. He sighed, putting the rest of the sheets back into their rightful files.

It was about two in the morning when he decided to retire for the night after cleaning up the explosion he'd made in the kitchen when he attempted to cook instant ramen, Kris content with the half black noodles because that's the less he's ever burned since he was 14. As he shuffled quietly through the hall, the sound of pained groans flittered from one of the rooms, door open slightly. Furrowing his thick brows a bit, he poked his head in, the light from the hallway filtering into the room and pouring onto one of the beds where one of the boys were thrashing about. Kris knew this sight quite well. He rushed in, approaching the restless boy's bedside and put his hand firmly on the younger's upper arms, shaking him gently. "Jongdae," He murmured quietly in his accented voice, vaguely recognizing the boy considering they didn't really associate much. "Wake up."

@Kris Sweat beads rolled down he sides of Jongdae's face as he gripped the bedsheets tightly and stirred in his sleep. It was another one of those rare nightmares that were always the same but came unexpectedly. Every night, he'd pray that he couldn't have the same nightmare and on most days he was lucky but tonight wasn't one of those days. Everything he felt, saw and heard felt so real and it was as if he was really living it.

Jongdae's breathing quickened as the images of his parents brutally beating him flashed through his mind and even in the dream he could clearly hear his parents laughing at him. Tears were already rolling down Jongdae's face as he tossed and turned in his sleep, desperately trying to wake up or at least get away from the nightmare. Jongdae screamed and thrashed in his dream but when there was no signs of him escaping, he began sobbing quietly. Jongdae was trapped and as he continued to cry in his sleep, he prayed that he'll somehow get away.
