@Sungmin "The swabs--Mr. Lee." Yura answered as she held the thin paper container of swabs up to him. Looking at him curiously, she wondered how long she the man in front of her had spent out working the streets. Despite his weathered appearance, he didn't seem older than thirty at the most.

"Are you--ok to continue?" Yura asked as she observed him carefully and noticed as his eyes grew red and his attention seemed fixed on something outside the small widow inside the room. Glancing behind her, and back to him she stood puzzled.

@▼ kim yura. As soon as the nurse left the room to grab some screws, Sungmin had the urge to make a face the foul smell of the clinic. He could've easily figured out where the smell was coming from and what types of chemicals were mixed within the odor, but a person like him had better things to do. Why bother finding out something that he's never going to be using later on in his life? Well unless, the chemicals were explosive and can be used to destroy something, it might come handy at times.

Silence rarely becomes a problem when Niel was left alone in a closed space. He would've had a clausterphobia attack if it weren't for the windows that showed him the pure white city of this one snowy night in New York City. His breathing that was, for a moment, turned into heaving slolwy calmed down, becoming more erratic and at its normal pace. Sungmin stared blankly out the window, his brain going nuts as his lips started to mumble the number of snow drops that came into his sight. "235, 236, 237, 238, ..." he went, not even noticing that the nurse had walked back inside the room.

Wasn't until practically a couple minutes later that his senses came back to reality after he was asked a question"350, 351, 352, 353—excuse me, what?" His eyes were burning like . , he didn't even blink once. No, what the hell was he even /doing/ trying to count every single drop of snow that fell to the wet streets.

@Sungmin "I see, well let me get a few test vials and such. This should only take a couple minutes." Yura answered as closed the manila folder on the counter and headed to the door. Stepping outside, she wondered what would drive someone to work out on the streets. Yura was never one to judge, just curious. She assumed though, that there were plenty of reasons to that question, Money, survival, a bad hand of cards dealt, all in all it seemed that none of these people actually belonged out there.

As if placed in some sort of play, the scenes ran like clock work. The morning rush, the sea of people, here to there and back again, never really getting to where they were supposed to be, just in some sort of limbo. Even in the hospital, Yura couldn't escape that routine of in and out and the only place she would find solace would be her small flat on 1st and Broadway. It wasn't much, but it served as her home in a city full of emptiness.

As she headed back to the room where the young man sat waiting, vials in hand, she hoped for his sake that the tests didn't come back positive, she never liked being on that side of things and making those phone calls. "Still with me Mr. Lee?" Yura joked as she knocked on the door before letting herself into the small examination room.

"So, I'm going to take a couple mouth swabs first, and then you can take a seat in the chair behind me to get some blood samples, sound alright?" She asked as she unscrewed the purple tops from the clear plastic vials

@▼ kim yura. Right. Blood tests. Forgot that all hospitals in the United States are connected through government system; they have every citizen's DNA saved in their files somehow. Not surprising either. Thought that leaving Texas would leave everything behind; guess not his files.

Asked the question, Sungmin slolwy looked up at the girl and blinked. The room fell into a couple seconds of awkward silence, before he opened his mouth to speak. "I just...need myself patched up and checking for diseases and stuff..." Isn't this awkward. But he remembered that it had been a while since he's taken a blood test to check for any ually transmitted diseases. Usually, he wouldn't mind it, because he'll always ask for his customers to use condoms. Though, upon meeting Marcus, every single one of his packages were long forgotten and replaced with bags of kush, , and other drugs that were constantly used for ecstasy. From these passed few weeks, he had been neglecting the use of protection; maybe taking a blood test now might be useful.

Well...even if Marcus could've easily done it for him, but...whatever. He was already at the clinic anyway, so why not? Sitting silently after his request, Sungmin reached over and grabbed the sleeveless shirt that was nearly placed to the side before slipping them on. The silky thin fabric sent shivers running up and down his spine, pushing his body up in to a curving S. The weather outside was cold as , too. He should've brought the jacket, now that he thought of it. Sungmin promised to himself silently that as soon as he gets home, the first thing he'll do is have a huggle snuggle session with the caucasian mountain shepherd called Summer. Marcus wouldn't mind that...would he?

@Sungmin Yura blinked when she heard the young man say her name and looked up at him from her gaze on the small metal sphere of the stethoscope. "You were born at Beacon Medical downtown right? The last time you came in--I believe they took a blood test? The other hospital sent over their past information on you. You aren't the only one in this city who uses a different name Mr. Lee." She answered as she looked over his file to confirm what she had said and placed it back on the pale blue counter.

She took a mental note as she watched his expression. Not that anyone wanted to really be here at the clinic this late, but he looked like he was fighting a bit of mental battle about being here and it sparked a bit of her curiosity. Though she was naturally very explorative, she figured it best not to ask into it.

For the next few minutes, Yura ran through taking the young man's blood pressure and checking the rest of his vital signs, remaining mostly quiet as she marked down the results in a dark blue pen. "Alright Mr. Lee, all done with the basics. What can I help you with tonight?" She asked standing attentive to him.

@▼ kim yura. It's almost a rare event to see such thing as Sungmin letting someone take off his shirt. Well, to be a little more specific, a girl taking off his shirt. But hell, it was for his own good and if he didn't cooperate, the worst that could happen would be him getting kicked off the clinic. Now /that/ would be quite a problem since not a lot of people actually would tolerate a person working as a e like him. Sungmin could've already considered this clinic a favor from his virtues that they didn't kick him out and discriminate him from his being.

"Yura-ssi," After a small amount of time and silence, Sungmin spoke softly. The room seemed to even echo back at him, but he didn't mind. He wasn't the person to find silences awkward anyway. Letting her do her job, and not really knowing if she was listening, he continued to speak. "How'd you know my name was Lee Sungmin? The last time I came here, I remember listing my name as Daniel Lee." To be quite honest, if she told him that she was some kind of secret agent in disguise to put him under arrest, or something of that sort.

Even if that's the case, it wouldn't be a problem. He was rich enough to find a good lawyer and let him out anyway. Sungmin at still, his eyes focused patiently for an answer from the nurse at his bruised up legs and arms.

"Take a couple deep breaths please." She asked nicely. Sungmin sighed before sitting himself up straight, his back curving into a perfect S shape before inhaling the disgusting, chemical smell of the clinic, and then exhaling it out without a word. Repeating the same routine, his mind slowly moved back to things that had been happening to him since a while. To be true, most of these scars weren't from his customers, but rather his Master. But that's a different case, because he finds pleasure in getting tortured...but his life had took its twist since the day he met a man named Marcus Cho.

It's quite interesting how one person could make such a large difference in one person's life. Really interesting. But, what's there to question? Life's weird. Life's a Hell of surprise, you could never know what's going to happen next. Especially for him, knowing for a fact that Marcus was a serial killer, who knows, he might be killed by tomorrow night. It's already lucky enough for him that the man lets him come out to the city and work like he always does every single day - with an exception that he'd have to come back to the "mansion" at a specific time.

Not tonight though. He might end up getting punished for being late, but he really did needed this treatment.

@Sungmin "This way Mr. Lee." Yura said softly as she led him down a small series of hallways to a line of rooms and pushed a blue button placed directly outside the room to signal it was occupied. "Alright Mr. Lee you can take a seat on examination bed for a moment." She said as she gestured to the pale sea foam green cushion with a piece of thin paper over it.

As she set his file down, she turned to the on-the-wall sanitizer and rubbed her hands together lightly before putting on a pair of rubber gloves. "My name's Yura by the way, I'll be the one treating you tonight, if--we can just get your vitals really quick, we can get to the more important stuff." She said with a soft smile in any attempt to break the ice cold exterior of this mysterious young man she had seen so many times.

Adjusting her stethoscope, she walked over to the young man and moved the front his shirt to the side. "Just--um, getting a listen of your heart, you can relax." Yura replied as she moved the cold metal in various directions around the man's bare skin. Not wanting to draw attention to the many bite marks and such on his chest, she moved to his back, which unfortunately, didn't look any better.

"Take a couple deep breaths please." She asked and again moved the small metal sphere around not hearing anything unusual.

@▼ kim yura. Unlike usual, Sungmin was put to wait for there were still other patients waiting to be treated. Because his brain works like a small computer, it was easy for him to analyze each and everyone of their injuries. Some of them, he thought, were so minor that it was obvious they were here for other reasons other than being treated. Well, it's quite a well-known fact that the doctors and nurses here have the best looks ever. Whatever, like he cared. Girls creep him out anyway, but the guys, oohohoho.

For instance of those injuries though. That guy sitting alone in the corner, that one that looked like James, he's here because...of a sudden asthma attack. Eh, he could stay. The gir in the front, she looks like a Jane or a Janey...dang, she's really tall. There's nothing wrong with her..wait, there is. A small knife cut on her wrist that coule easily be bandaged up. Obviously, she's here for some good looking doctor.

Serious, are all girls like this? Does this mean he acts like a girl? Gross. Then suddenly, Sungmin flinched away from his thoughts at his name being called, the purse on his lap nearly dropping to the floor.

But wait a second. There's somethig wrong with this picture.

Sungmin? Did she just call him Sungmin? The last time he came here, he remembered putting his name under Daniel Lee. That's odd; other than Marc—Master—no one had really called him by his Korean name before. Interesting enough, it was a random nurse that only had normal conversations with him about things like the weather, work, what they had for lunch, or so on. Brushing the thought off his mind, Sungmin slowly pushed himself off the chair and cautiously walked over to the nurse, making sure to hold in the slight pain jolting up in his spines. Thank god he didn't wear wedges today; that would've been terrible for his legs' conditions.

@Sungmin Not wanting to stare, Yura peered up from the small stack of files she was putting in order to glance at the young man every once and a while. From the way he looked tonight though, he had had a rough night, a bit rougher than most. Though most anyone in the medical field was given the unspoken message to not expend much emotion on the countless patients the entered in and out of the hospital doors, she could help but find it interesting to read the files and ponder who they people really were. It might have sounded crazy, naive, stupid maybe, but a small hope inside wanted to believe that people were more than just their injuries.

Take Mary Mitchells on the fourth floor special need ward, hooked to ventilator for months now, sure she had smoked since she was twelve, but when she could take a breath, her jokes could match any of those comedians at Carnegie hall, even if it was long-winded. Sighing, it seemed Yura found herself again at the same rock and a hard place she had when she first started the job. She loved and hated this place, but as always she would it up and think back to why she back a nurse in the first place, to care for people.

As the small line of people slowly started to empty, she saw that the young man had yet to be taken care of and looked around at her sunbaes. "What were they waiting for?" She wondered.

"Su-Hwa-ssi, that man in the back has been waiting for over twenty minutes now." Yura piped up from her corner as she glanced over at the head nurse on duty as she sat on her phone mindlessly.

"Oh is that right rookie? Well--then maybe you should take care of it, hm?" Su-Hwa answered not bothering to look up.

"Oh--neh sunbae." Yura nodded and went over to the shelve of clinic files and searched in the L section. Finding the yellowed manilla folder, she tucked it carefully under her arm and went over to the door leading to the patient analysis room. "Sungmin." She called out and waited for the young man's response.

@▼ kim yura. % on a side note, sungmin has blonde hair atm 8D

"Are you ing serious...A thousand dollars for a ing terribly shallow s? Disgusting. Ugh, that was gross." The young e grunted at the small pack of straight hundred dollar bills in his hand. Like any other night, he wanted to scream at how much he had to go through for so little money, and today just wasn't his best days. His customers were merely old men seeking tight other than floppy s of their old, naggy wives, or high school nerds that wanted to show off to their friends that they had lost their ities. Just a simple thought of that was making him feel gross. Seriously; can't people like him finally, for ing once, get a handsome man, well built, walk inside their rooms and them for no other reason than just to decrease the amount in their bank accounts for pure entertainment?

As usual, however, Sungmin would end his shifts at barely midnight and would be going straight for the only clinic that opens 24/7. In New York City, it's normal for people to walk in with minor injuries at night starting from midnight after. Either because the girls got so drunk that they had to walk around with no shoes on and accidentally step on a piece of broken class, or...or you're a e like him and often gets unwanted injuries from sadistic customers. It wasn't like Sungmin didn't enjoy them, but these old hags just need to learn that too much pain equals no pleasure but pain. And yet again, he stepped inside the small clinic with his face pale as ever, and lips pursed at all eyes that landed on him.

Maybe next time he should dress a little better before walking in a decent place.

Noticing the one and only nurse that he actually trusted and would often come for, Sungmin lifted a tired smile before walking over to sit on the waiting chairs. Even if he knew he would be appointed to her right away, it was the politest thing he could do is to sit ad wait. As he did so, his eyes landed softly on the purple bruises on his arms, his slightly showing hips, his inner thighs that was a little too obvious, and other places. Accompanying that with small cuts that wasn't too deep nor too shallow...

He sighed. If only he could choose to be something else, he would. But it was too late now anyways. Should've used that brain of his before actually deciding on something so stupid.

As Yura clocked in for her nightly shift, she rolled up the sleeves to her white undershirt underneath her pale blue scrubs to wash her hands. Though she wasn't a doctor, it was still hospital protocal for all personnel to wash up before entering any sterile areas. The first few hours seemed to drag on as she did her typical rounds in the ICU and was now making her way back to the clinic. Entering the office she greeted her sunbaes, and sat down at the little corner of the half-sphered rounded out desk that had become hers. It wasn't much, decorated with a picture of her aunt and uncle, a pink and purple striped pencil case, a notepad, and mini rubix cube, it had become her own little niche.

"Hey Yura, look who it is?" Her sunbae, Sooyoung whispered to her as a young man with dark hair walked in.

Many times, Yura had seen this man walk in, he was always dressed as if he had come from a party on the upper east side of the city. Quiet, he would make short work on any conversation outside of seeking treatment for what seemed like minor, but continual injuries.
