ϖ Music Room

-walks in to the music room and starts rapping-

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung stared at the older as if he was crazy.
"But...hyung won't teach Young-ie how to play ?" He asked, changing his stare to puppy eyes

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Narrowing his eyes slightly at the younger, Sungmin wished that he had some earplugs because he knew that drums were easily the loudest thing in here apart from the brass instruments. "You can go and play on them if you want then~" Sungmin suggested, "Just don't knock anything over otherwise we might not be allowed back in here again.

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung shook his head. "Nope," he replied, sensing that the elder wasn't really good with drums and unconsciously liking it.
Then he stopped smiling. "But they look REALLLYYYY cool. Young-ie wants to play drums!"

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin mentally cursed when the younger chose the only instrument he wasn't confident on. "Have you played the drums before?"

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung tapped his index finger on his chin as he let his vision scan over the instruments in a room again. Something that looked gigantic but really easy to play caught his eyes.

"That," he said as he pointed to the drums.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin felt his eyes narrow a bit at the younger, noticing the miniscule change of demeanour in the other patient. "What instrument do you want to learn?"

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung nodded. "My hyung used to play them and I learned by ear," he smiled, recalling the times his brother would come over after his music lessons to showcase his talent specially to Hoyoung and how he always played the piano when their father wasn't around.
Then he realised something. He frown for a split second and then pouted.
"Teach Young-ie how to playyy~~" he whined.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin looked at the younger, wondering for a second why the other was chuckling before dismissing the thought. He followed Hoyoung's line of sight and spotted the violin and piano. "Do you know how to play one of those instruments?" Sungmin asked softly.

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung looked around the room. He knew how to play the piano and violin by ear.
A smile formed on his lips
"If hyung don't mind teaching me," he chuckled at his own words, still oblivious to the change in his attitude towards the elder.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin thought for a bit before facing the other, "I could teach you if you want?" Sungmin looked around the room trying to look for resources, "Or if you knew any instruments I could just listen by ear and try and harmonize with you?"

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung thought about it for a while. Did he even know how to read music?
No.
He had learnt just from hearing and rarely saw any scores, not like he could recognise the notes on the paper either.
So he shook his head. "Sorry, hyung. I don't really know how to read music...."
Something was amiss. He wasn't Young-ie now, he was Hoyoung.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin took a glance at the younger, rocognising the expression the other was sporting; his own mother used to look at him like that constantly when he talked about stuff that didn't interest her. Brushing the thought aside Sungmin picked the cello bow up and a little container of resin, continuing on and brushing the bow rappidly over the resin to make sure the entire bow was covered. "Do you know how to read music at all? Because we might be able to do a duet?"

@ϖ Sungmin All the things Sungmin had said went in from one ear and out from another. He nodded in fake understanding, following the elder to the cello. He has neither played nor heard a cello before.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung "Oh, he's just a baroque composer. He wrote quite a lot of music including these cello suites that are really cool. They're my favourite pieces." Sungmin smiled, getting up and walking towards the cello in the corner of the room. "Baroque music is one of my favourites, there's so much flair and embellishment so it sounds a bit poofy but it's nice."

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung pondered on the name for a while before shaking his head. He had learnt by watching his brother who had piano and violin lessons. "Who is Bach?"

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung "So you're musical?" Sungmin mused, watching the other play a tune. "Do you know any classical music? Or any suites composed by Bach?"

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung maintained the fake smile before he decided to pick up a violin and play a familiar tune from his childhood.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin smiled at the other, "Okay, I'll call you Youngi-ie then." He paused playing for a little bit to raise his hands, palms forward to placate the younger. Even though Sungmin was older didn't mean that he was exempt from being hit by the younger patient, especially since he didn't know why the other was a patient at the psychiatry.

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung snapped out of his trance and realised that he just gave away his identity to the other. He fake a smile. "My name is Young-ie!"
He just hoped that the other didn't read the news because his family had been on the first page not long before he arrived at the psychiatry.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin nodded, heeding the warning behind the younger's word, "So what do you want me to call you?"

@ϖ Sungmin "Hoyoung, Kwon Hoyoung," Hoyoung said absentmindedly. "But not everyone is allowed to call me that....." he trailed off, his mind still lost in his early childhood memories.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin looked at the younger after he had finished playing, "So what's your actual name because I'm sure Young-ie is a nickname." He smiled at the other absentmindedly while he started plucking a tune that he remembered from his childhood.

@ϖ Sungmin Hoyoung smiled as the sound of the guitar titled the room. Although Sungmin played a song he didn't know, he appreciated music and it calmed him down. He closed his eyes and happy memories of his childhood flashed pass his memory. He was grinning from ear to ear with his eyes still closed by the time Sungmin finished playing.

@ϖ Kwon Hoyoung Sungmin followed in behing Hoyoung, intent on playing a guitar as soon as he set his sight on one.

Hoyoung peeked his head inside to see if there ws anyone inside but when he saw none, he came inside with light step. How he missed the sound of music.
