RUMOR: The Kwons are your typical, middle-class family of four with no internal problems whatsoever. TRUE | FALSE
     ★ Because Soonyoung came to Seoul just before attending SOPA, no one knew much about his family. All he said was that he came from a smaller city and used to live with his older sister, but his mouth remained (surprisingly) sealed on the topic. His family at one point did resemble a 'picture perfect' family. But alas, there's always something that comes to disrupt the tranquility. The simplified version of the story goes like this: His father got demoted when Soonyoung hit his tens, which took a toll on their financial situation and, in the case of his father, mentality. This led to excessive drinking, to the point that the young boy would see his father surrounded by beer cans once home from work, conversations between the two discontinued. The storm came the night that Soonyoung's elder sister dropped him off at the household after his dance class. They heard everything from outside the front door: the slurred shouts, crashes from thrown objects, their mother's shrieks... Although Soonyoung was pulled away from the scene quickly, he still remembered hearing his father's screams of how he shouldn't have been born, his mother's wails blended in between. 

RUMOR: The thing that Kwon Soonyoung loves most is dancing. TRUE | FALSE
     ★ (Alright, yes, his mother and sister are the two people he loves most in the world, but they're not exactly a 'thing', right?) His passion for dancing came about around age ten, when he saw an idol group performing on television. He was mesmerized by how, using a ten year old's vocabulary, awesome they appeared on the screen. Soonyoung too wanted to wiggle his body in a way like they did, so he urged his mother to enroll him in a beginners dance class, which she complied to, not hindering him from following any potential dreams as well as keeping him away from the turmoil their household was succumbing to. When he came home from the first class, he decided that he loved it more than any other form of art, and his infatuation for the fine arts continued to grow over the years.
Soonyoung's solace and happiness lies with moving his limbs in smooth, often complex ways to mirror the rhythm that travels through his ears. The feeling that travels through his body each time he executes a move is so inexplicably wonderful, it makes all the long hours of choreographing an actual routine worth it. With dance, he feels that he can express himself in ways that can't be done verbally, and this is definitely conveyed when he's performing.

RUMOR: Kwon Soonyoung is incapable of feeling anger. TRUE | FALSE
     ★ Throughout the years at SOPA, Soonyoung's developed a number of titles: Class Clown, Kwon Friendly, Kwon Fire, the list goes on and on. If you bump into him on campus, he'll probably have the corners of his lips stretched out into a wide smile and be bouncing on his toes, never one to stay in one place for too long. His mouth is likely running a mile as well and sprouting nonsense, which may be irritating to some, but it's one of his charming points, or so he says. Soonyoung's easygoing personality makes it so that it's almost impossible to aggravate him, because he'll usually brush off any 'crude' remarks thrown at him. However, there are rare occasions where he does explode, and it's not a pretty sight. He has his bad moments too, but he tries to not let it show.

RUMOR: Friendship is something Kwon Soonyoung values a lot. TRUE | FALSE
     ★ There's a reason as to why Soonyoung is a friendly person to every living organism he sees. One of the goals he made back in freshman year was to befriend as many students as he could. It sounded a little impossible, but Soonyoung was determined. He never shared his internal problems when his family had their tough time, his father's words taunting him that he was a nuisance. It clawed away at him and  eventually caused him to fold in on himself during middle school. His sister obviously noticed the change in demeanor, and while it took him some time to open up to her, he did, and it made him realize that everyone needed a figure like that in their life. Therefore, Soonyoung decided, when he was accepted into a high school in the main city, that he would strive to become that person for everyone he possibly could. Even if the other party didn't think of him as a friend or less, he wanted to let them know that if they ever needed someone to listen, he was available. Always.

RUMOR: Kwon Soonyoung is the "swaggiest, coolest senior on the SOPA block." TRUE | FALSE 
     ★ No comment. Word has it that this is a statement from the kid himself.
