choi seungcheol ‪→‬ seol
observant, somewhat introverted, persistent, easy going, relaxed

seungcheol had always been quiet; he didn't have a lot of friends around him when he's a child. he's more comfortable talking to older people than friends of his own age. nonetheless, when spoken to, he's always polite, and easy going. however, after the incident, he became much less relaxed around people, always feeling tensed and jittery. he needs a longer time to warm up to people around him, preferring to keep to himself.
— background —
born with a silver spoon, seungcheol lived a childhood of luxury. people were envious, and he was happy to get anything he wanted as a child. however, he receive money instead of love. it wasn't until he was older that he realised he was the mistress's son - a hidden son of one of korea's most successful realtor. the first wife passed away before he turned 5, and although his mother replaced the previous wife, he was kept hidden and raised alone by a nanny. he had all the toys he wanted, but he barely received love or attention from his parents. his father's acceptance and acknowledgment were more valuable than money to him, he did everything he could to garner praises. when he first started boxing, his father reacted to the news, to his surprise. he was driven to continue, encouraged by his father – making ties underground would help with getting more customers. he grew to love boxing, and made a group of friends who were close like brothers.

— how he ended up here —
it was an accident. one that seungcheol had expected to come the moment he chose such a career. in fact, it wasn't uncommon that such a mistake would occur. it was one of the biggest fight tournament in seoul, and he was invited to join. the prize and title was attractive; he's determined to win, especially when faced with brutal opponents who will stop at nothing. it was difficult, but he survived till the end, worthy of his name and title that people gave him. seungcheol knew that the final round would be the worst - he's faced with a gang leader. one that he had heard of all the time, one that was the least forgiving and violent, even to his own people. he had to win. he must. the fight was long and tiring, but he had finally managed to pin the older man under him, adrenaline pumping through his veins. punches after punches land on the man, seungcheol found that he was unable to stop, afraid that if he did, the other would have a chance to flip him over. it wasn't until he was physically dragged away, that he realised his own hands were stained with blood of the opponent. his hand trembled, legs too weak to move; the entire ring fell silent, murmurs could be heard talking about how he's a murderer. His friends were calling his name, collecting their belongings, pulling him off his feet and running - away from the gang members that are instinctively after his blood. news came soon after: the gang leader was still alive, barely survived, and his people are right on seungcheol's tail. some people just can't accept defeat, and it was enough a reason to leave seoul.

#1 (open)  library trips are fun when there's a handsome librarian. seungcheol notices that you only ever come in to 'look around' and never to 'read'.
#2 (open)  the two of you are strangers, but not quite strangers. it seems like every tuesday night, the two of you end up seated a few seats away along a bar counter. silent company is fine and somewhat comforting.
#3 (open)  it's late and the library is rather empty, with you, seungcheol and a couple others. you happen to be sitting near the librarian and when a moan came from the back of the shelves, it gets awkward.
