@hyuna ( @suzy to me )

As they entered the cafe, the rich smell of caffeine and sweets hit Amber, and she breathed in deeply, relishing the slight zing of bitterness that she knew would soon hit her taste buds. Coughing slightly, the younger led Hyuna down to sit, and eagerly sat beside her, anticipating the line being shorter for the two to order something and finally chat aside from mundane small talk. She turned and opened to ask a question, but shut it as she watched the other squirm slightly in her seat. Hyuna wasn't known to be a squirmer; she either stated what she spoke or she would or she didn't, and even when she didn't, if something was bothering her, she would seek out Amber for advice immediately. To see the older unnerved about an issue to the point of being physically uncomfortable sitting down, the university student knew that something was the matter, and she would stop at nothing to find out what was wrong. "Ey, man, you've been moving around a lot lately. Something wrong?" she asked, her tone indicating that she wouldn't take a 'it's nothing' for an answer.

When Hyuna asked her if she had dealt with weird events, Amber raised an eyebrow. Weird events? Was something wrong? "What do you mean by weird? I mean, Hakyeon could probably shove fifty pencils up his nose if he was dared to, but I'm thinking you don't mean that kind of weird." Hopefully, that odd jab would lighten the mood somewhat, get her friend laughing again. "I've known you for like ten odd-something years, Hyuna. I don't think that you're going to stop me from listening to you just because you think you're gonna 'sound crazy.'"

The older girl then brought up stalking, and Amber raised her head slowly from their resting position on her arms in alarm, eyes wide. "Stalking?" she repeated in disbelief. Hyuna may be quite the looker, and would be chased after by some guys (especially in high school, /ooh/, the memories are coming back now), but not once did any of the pursuers use stalking as a form of getting closer to the female. "Hey, this is serious. If they know things they shouldn't know, you should go to the police immediately. Do you think you know who it is? Is it a guy from your classes, or- or work, or wherever? That's scary stuff, man, and it's dangerous, too. You're going to end up hurt!"

Eyebrows furrowed, the younger continued her little spiel. "The police wouldn't just sit around and do nothing! You oughta talk to them about this! What's the worst that could arise from this? Just a few indecent things from your personal life, but it may save you from even worse things appearing later on?" Stalking scared her immensely; if anyone was stalking her she would've disappeared as fast as she could. "Oh my God, Hyuna, why didn't you tell me? I would've let you room with me in my apartment and save you some trouble. Here, you have to come with me, alright? You need sleep, and being scared won't let you do that."

But, weird events... well, Amber wasn't being stalked, per say, but there were some chilling text messages from this one anonymous number, always signing their texts at the bottom with a simple "A," and though it didn't scare /her/ personally to the point of lacking sleep, she did begin to look twice behind her shoulder and at everyone that she made in contact with, in the case that they were the mysterious sender and would kill her or something along the likes of it. She had thought about going to the police, much like Hyuna, but to air her dirty laundry, her past that she had to drag up with reluctance, not to mention the actual truth of what had happened /that/ day- no, she wouldn't think about it. She promised herself that much.

@amber God, the memories that came from the thought of their high school days, and elementary days made Hyuna both happy and a bit poignant. There were days when she missed them, being free and being close to who she considered her friends back then; but there were also moments where she thought of the deep secrets she had to carry alone, and how much those damn secrets permanently scarred her both physically and mentally from how severe they were. Shaking away the nasty mood that was trying to drain the once happy atmosphere, Hyuna replayed her friend’s words in her mind as they made it inside of the café; glad to hear that all was going well with her, since the both of them had a few problems here and there in their life, be it the past or the present. Problem that was rarely spoken about from both parties, just like with this ‘A’ issue. Hyuna had wanted to ask her if she was getting text messages from someone anonymous, but she was afraid that if she asked that, more questions that she wouldn’t be able or want to answer, would leave her friend’s lips. Yet… she couldn’t help but wonder.

Sitting down beside Amber as she waited for the line to shorten before she made her way up there, she finally turned around and glanced at her friend, eyebrows furrowed as she thought about how to say what was really bothering her while shifting around in her seat. Even if she were to turn away and quickly tell her it was ‘nothing’, from how serious and concerned Hyuna had looked, she knew that Amber wouldn’t let it go. The both of them were also known for pestering each other until one of them spoke up about their feelings or what and /who/ was bothering them the most.

“Amber, have you been dealing with some weird events lately?” She slowly and carefully chose her words and dropped her gaze down to her legs, feeling her heart pound against her chest swiftly. There was no turning back if she continued on with this, right? “I mean, you know, things out of the blue. Things that… isn’t exactly ‘normal’? Lately, a lot of stuff has been happening to me. And it’s hard to explain, a-and I’m actually kind of worry on how I should say this without sounding like I’m going _____ing crazy.” Muttering the last part and brushing her hair out of her face, she allowed a small groan to slip pass her lips that were constantly moving, letting out deep breaths or small mumbles that couldn’t be distinguish. Exactly what she was trying to say? “I think I’m being stalked or something—“That was better than nothing. “And I have no clue who it is, which scares me more than anything because they know things they shouldn’t know.”

Doing her best to hide the anxiety in her voice, she let out a small laugh and weakly nudged her side, trying to play it all off. “Or maybe I’m just going crazy? I don’t want to start pointing fingers at innocent people, but it’s really freaking me out, and I know for sure the police wouldn’t do anything about.” Now, that was semi-true. If anything, the main reason why she didn’t want to go to the police was due to the confessions that would have to leave her lips. She held way too many secrets that would no doubt be released to the public within hours, and giving a bad name to her family. It was bad enough she had to keep a few mouths shut, but to stop a reporter or some sneaky cop from ratting her out sounded impossible. “I hope it stop soon, it's getting harder and harder to sleep at night."

@hyuna A small frown cast on her visage from the sudden downpour of resigned negativity, Amber nudged the other with a twitch of her fingers. "Ey, don't talk like that. All parents are like that, y'know, not wanting the baby birds to leave the coop or whatever. You're growing up- /I'm/ growing up- and they can't accept that we are. Remember when we got into such huge trouble on your twelfth birthday party as kids?" Ah, fun memories, involving cake batter, the neighborhood cat, and /lots/ and lots of sugar. Needless to say, the two were banned from the kitchen until they were fifteen, and Amber was on her friend's mom's bad side for a while. "They still think of ya as that tiny skinny kid. My mom thinks that, too, still, and you know how gung-ho she is about 'freedom' and whatnot." Waving a hand to dismiss what she considered extraneous information, the girl continued, "Anyway, they're not gonna be like this forever. Just a bit more, and then they'll let you be so independent you'll be beggin' for them to take you back! Just hang in their, aight, man?"

Humming thoughtfully at the question, Amber let her gaze wander up to the sky. "Enjoying my life? I guess. I mean, I got a job, I'm getting my education... and you know that it's been, well, a bit hard on my mom since my aunt left, so..." Her aunt had recently been admitted into a facility for those that were, to put it lightly, troubled. Ever since then, her mother would go silent for times on end, only speaking to ask for assistance in something, and even then, it was in a quiet whisper. The lady was the only family her mother had left, and though Amber loved her mother very much, she didn't think that the woman's older sister being sent to a mental facility wasn't anything to go mute over.

"Ah, date me, huh?" Amber cackled, her eyebrows dancing up and down in unison. Often, the two would settle into a ceremony of teasing, and whether it may be playful, sarcastic, or suggestive in nature, Amber took it all in with stride. After all, Hyuna wasn't just her friend- the two went way back. "Nah, I don't think the dating life's for me. Looking like a male is a turn-off, apparently, so there we have it." It wasn't that she didn't /care/ about her love life, but... she wasn't really motivated to go get a boyfriend, either. "Don't need them, anyway, remember?" To end her little spiel, the younger began humming one of Miss A's title songs, batting her eyelashes to convey as much cuteness as she could muster up without gagging (or, perhaps, making her friend gag).

"Yeah, the struggles of being an adult. Oh, Hyuna!" she melodramatically bemoaned, tossing a hand over her forehead and tilting her head back. "How I miss our high school days, when we were together!" Regaining her composure, Amber let loose a laugh, standing and taking the other's wiggling fingers. "My pleasure, your Highness! This way, if you will!" Regally opening the cafe door, the younger dropped into a deep bow as she led the other in to sit at a corner booth. "I assume that this arrangement will please Your Majesty greatly!"

@amber “They’re still at it, yes, I wish they would just let me breathe. I feel like a puppet more than I feel like a daughter.” Hyung mumbled the last part, not sure if she wanted the latter to hear the sudden confession or bring the mood down because of it. But then again, she found herself questioning just /who/ and /what/ she meant to her parents often. As she sat there and listened to her friend, a small smile cracked along her lips as she shifted her gaze towards the pretty female, the one who always made jokes about herself – but did it with a smile. “If I was a guy, I would date you in a heart beat. Not just date, but, ya know.” With her eyebrows wiggling, Hyuna stifled back her laughter and playfully nudged Amber’s leg underneath the table with her own. “I get that you’re living your life, but are you enjoying it?” Now, that question was meant for her, but for some reason, Hyuna felt as if she was asking herself at the same time. Was this what one would call enjoying their life? Having to deal with multiple problems within seconds because she couldn’t control herself, or trying to get the attention of someone that was well off without her – wasn’t her dreams of living her life. Or god, could it be her family – the ones that neglected her and what she really wanted?

“If only you knew how much things has changed since we last met. Everything was so easy back in high school, now it feels like the entire world is watching me, instead of our peers.” Chuckling a bit at the sad reality of things, Hyuna once again nudged Amber’s leg with her feet this time, and pointed towards the entrance of the café. “Come on, let’s go get something drink and snack upon? We can talk inside of there, the sun is blinding me.” Dramatically standing up and covering her eyes with one hand, she held out the other after putting her phone in her purse and wiggling her fingers. “Please guide me, oh great one.”
amber 9 years ago
@hyuna "Yeah, yeah, sorry about that," Amber said, waving away the light scolding with a well-natured grin. She perched against the table, listening to the other speak with rapt attention. She had noticed how the other hesitated when talking, but mentally excused it as the other being tired and zoning out for a bit. After all, that's what happened most days back when they attended high school together. "Your parents at it again? Man, you woulda thought that by now, they would let up. We're college kids now! Even my mom doesn't check up on me every week," she lamented, though with a smile.

Amber snorted at the older girl's statements. "Nah, I haven't changed whatsoever, though if you insist I'm lovely, I guess I am." She whipped her head to the side with a flourish, imitating the shallow young women she would often see visiting the cafe, though she lacked the long hair to truly pull it off. "Life, I'm already living it, man. Love, well, I still get odd looks from dudes everytime I walk into the girls' restroom, so I think you can guess how successful it is."

@amber From the sudden shout, Hyuna quickly stood up on her feet and nearly slipped from her sandals – her hand clutching tightly on her chest as she sent the blonde, familiar female a well-known glare, her eyes squinting as she gave her the finger and laughed afterwards, making her way around the table and attacking the latter with nothing but squeezes from her constant hugging, and small kisses on the cheeks. “What type of greeting is that? You know better.” Giving her back a light pinch, she pulled away from the sudden love shower and made her way across from her, sitting right back in her chair and turning her phone off. “All is well. I’m doing good, living well, but I’m just busy with school and…” Trailing off, she felt her lips parting, but nothing leaving them as she thought about the certain man that had caught her attention at her university. But wouldn’t that make her one of those girls they always talked about back in high school? Frantically, she searched her brain for something more interesting to add on, but she ended up with nothing in the end. “A-And just life and pleasing my mother and father, you know how they are. They’re still the same, “you’ll be this and do this when you grow up” type of parents. There’s no winning with them. Though, might I add, you look lovely as always. How have you been babygirl? Any luck with finding love or life?”

@hyuna Seeing her friend from behind, Amber let a grin sneak onto her face as she crept silently to the table, and then let loose a loud "wah!" as she grabbed the other's shoulder's suddenly, hoping to startle the young woman. "Hey, girl," she greeted, tongue caught between her teeth in a cheeky look as she let go of the other's shoulders and slid the chair across from her out, seating herself. "Hope I didn't scare you too much, 'cus, you know, it'd be a shame if the amazing Kim Hyuna died from a heart attack." Amber interlaced her fingers under her chin and pulled off the best innocent look she could possibly manage. "Sorry, man."

Stretching out her legs, she inhaled and sighed with contentment. "It's been a while since I've seen you. You look good! What've you been up to?" she asked, leaning against the table on her elbows.
hyuna 9 years ago
@amber With her fingers threading through her hair, Hyuna turned her attention towards something else more entertaining – which was her phone in the end, but she didn’t too much care. She needed to distract herself from the numerous of thoughts filling her brain, and the judgmental glares she got from some of the girls that she had problems with before in the past. Sending her best friend, Amber, a quick text and letting her know she was already at the café waiting for her, near one of the tables - Hyuna crossed her legs and leaned back into the seat she marked as her own and shifted her gaze elsewhere; admiring the beautiful scenery around her, while smoothing out her skirt. How long has it been since they last came up and chatted with each other? Ever since she started doing her own thing, and Amber started doing her own thing, the closest they came to talking to each other was either on skype or using their mobile devices. But even so, a few texts or calls couldn't compare to the excitement and overall satisfaction she felt when they came face to face.

hello. urm, can i go on a hiatus for two weeks? this week had been very difficult for me. i have a test next week and i'm deeply shocked and sad (like i'm crying right now) from eunb's death. she had been my bias since ladies' code's debut. so, the pain is really excruciating for me to swallow. so, yeah, i don't feel like roleplaying that much when i feel very sad.
