@mark tuan it was almost cute -- at how he could shift from a prideful individual to a battered man that just yearned for company. and essentially, he was right; his way wasn't going too well for him. not to say that she pitied him, but she did feel some kind of guilt gnawing at her for being the skeptical woman she was, when maybe this man's intentions were pure and true. as he remained against the bookshelf for his weight support, she mirrored his posture and faced him, book still snug in her grasp. her temple rested upon the corner of the shelf and she elicited a small sigh. "i'm not saying we're friends, i just met you. but, sure, you can show me why you're so popular," she mumbled. "are you an upcoming ceo, a social media model, one of those youtubers -"

@yoo shiah he struggles to keep his laughter hidden. his canines refuses to duck behind his pairs. the female attempts to rebuttal his invitations, yet she maintains the same spot. he knows that he's doing something right for once, and of course, he can't pass the opportunity to accompany a pretty lady. "yes, i'm very well known. why else would i be standing here still?" a small chuckle slips, and his eyes twinkle with that dash of pride. though, her sudden path causes his expression to fall. an extremely noticeable frown appears, and his hand subconsciously brushes through his strands once more. "that's not what i'm asking," he speaks with a different tone. his eyes narrow at her frame, locating a place to settle his vision on. "i need a friend! really! i guess my way of doing so isn't working too well."

@mark tuan "a friend," she mumbled under her breath, inaudible for him to hear as she allowed her arms to droop to her sides, the book comfortably latched in one hand's grip. her eyes glistened over his stance once more, probably the fifth time since their encounter just minutes ago, finding it odd as to how persistent this male was to indulge her in this ,,, fantasy of his that everyone, and i mean, everyone, just had to be aware of his possible influence on others. honestly to speak, it was rather out of amusement than curiosity that she stuck around at this point. and although she refused to admit it, he was decent looking. but that perseverance of a smile seemingly bothered her. her eyebrow cocked up in slight disbelief of his invitation, suddenly having red flags take ablaze in her mind. "i'm going to repeat what you just said to me. you can /show/ me why you're so well known at a college campus, but only if i'm ( supposedly ) ready?" she almost scoffed as her thoughts could only lead to malicious worriment of his intentions. "i'm not /that/ type of woman, sorry to burst your bubble, mister tuan."

*she heads into the university to wonder around campus, while she's not signed up to be a student here, she did enjoy her last time in college and is considering taking classes here*

@yoo shiah her obvious motions indicate an irritation, but mark doesn't seem to show concern in such thing. he feels the occasion a victory. he's leaving quite the impression on her, though there is a possibility that the female will despise his sudden casualness. even then, he figures his way around people. after all, he has bank from entertaining others for a reason. "in my opinion... it's a place for nerds," he releases a jolly laugh, then darting his eyes back and forth once more. he subconsciously brushes through his strands with his long digits, still holding the fort of a smile towards the former. "you don't need to grasp any situation, ma'am. i'm here to be a friend. simple as that," he snaps his finger with another bright curl of his pairs. "talk about us, duh. what else is there to talk about? i can show you why i'm so well-known at such a place, but that's if you're ready of course."

@mark tuan she almost caught herself willing to speak out of line due to how informal the man before her was, wondering just as to how others could possibly be stoked on the fact that he attended this college in particular, and why was it so important for her to be aware of his status and presence. it irritated her more than she had anticipated -- both not knowing who this stranger was from the reaction of interns and he himself, and how he could seep under her fingernails so quick. in a monotone, she paused for a brief moment before parting her tiers to retaliate accordingly. "libraries isn't a place for 'nerds', /mister/ tuan. and i don't seem to grasp the situation as to why i need to know who you are," although he flashed a pair of eyesmiles her way, her own irises were indicative of her reluctance to participate in the conversation. dreadfully, she had an inkling, a feeling that he'd obdurately wish to spread his so-called fame and name, in which she resorted to just relaxing her tensed physique. "talk about what? i'm listening."

@yoo shiah his lips open for a brief moment, not sure if it is from shock or hesitation. it isn't the first time that he encountered this type of behavior, but every student recognizes him. whether it is from attraction or gaming, they see mark tuan and they easily remember. he soon closes his pairs and emits a small sigh that is duo with a smile. "yes! you are. trust me, it is best that you know me," his tone forms a whisper; his eyes dash back and forth the alley to see if there are any visitors. he wouldn't want another dickhead shushing him from across the enormous library. "you don't have to apologize. i don't take apologies for meaningless things, but this is a big issue—therefore, i take your apology." he nods, eyes shaping into crescents. "how about we talk? seems like a fantastic idea right? i don't have any class right now, and you don't seem to either since you're camped in this place of nerds."

@mark tuan yooa, she was never one to be irked so easily, but with a combination of that smug grin etched upon the male's countenance, the arrogant stance he took upon the bookshelf, and the informality of his inquries -- she couldn't help but to refrain the need to roll her eyes. instead, she remained poker faced towards him, still holding the book against her smaller physique and obsequiously shook her head in retaliation to his rather bewildered self. "uh, and i'm yooa," she responded, though something alarmingly struck a nerve; mark tuan. where has she heard that name? oh right, the student from earlier, right. now that she remembered the familiarity of the name, all that resulted was an even more evident plethora of questions in her mind. "i'm sorry, i don't think i can tell you that i know. am i supposed to?" she couldn't cater to the slight inkling of a snappy tone within her voice, mostly because she was called shortie on their first meeting, but other than that, it was his harbored aura.

@yoo shiah the gentle smile dissolves into a bewildered frown. his eyes blink once and twice from her sudden cold display, applying discouraging gestures towards the male. he wants to awkwardly laugh, but he couldn't; instead, his frown switches to his proud grin. it does surprise him that her expressions are different from the others who witnessed him. at this point, he believes that this girl doesn't know who he is. that is fine, but his thoughts are filled with curiosity. "well, if you were a bit taller—you would have reached it," he leans against the tower of books, crossing his arms and gazing at her figure. she tips away to the side as room for him to cross, but he isn't going to cross—not without her ability to recognize who he is. he completely ignores her movement and points a finger to his chest, "do you know who i am? i'm mark tuan." he comments with a tint of glee at the end, proudly smirking at his gesture. "tell me that you do," he mumbles without a thought, and his eyebrows arch from his dash of surprise.

@mark tuan her eyes widen in surprisal of the man before her, presenting her with the very book she oh so tried to reach despite her short stature, though she was rather displeased with his nickname given already. she took a small glance in his direction, not yet recognizing his countenance, so warily, she retrieved the library book into her dainty hands, hugging it against her chest as if it were a shield from the male. "they need to make these book shelves shorter for people like me, in my opinion," she murmured as an explanation to the aforementioned man. her eyes glazed over the cover to ensure that this indeed was the book suggested, only to lift her chin towards him and offer a nod of acknowledgment. "thanks, that was awful nice of you." she voiced out without much thought put into her words as her eyes naturally dressed him from head to toe, habitually inspecting him subconsciously -- taking in his golden watch that was knotted around his carpal, the bruised lipping that evidently showed signs of impatience, thus she scooted to the side to let him through if she had been blocking his way further, politely. "and i'd to say that i'm not short. i'm pretty average amongst the females. but yes, thank you once again."

@yoo shiah it’s an odd sight to see mark at the library. it isn’t a rare occasion, but he would rather study at his apartment rather than deal with jackasses who keeps shushing him every time. he slouches on his seat and blankly stares at the page on his laptop over and over again while he proceeds to bite on his lip with impatience. he rolls his wrist in attempt to refocus, but his sight switches to the gold watch tightly wrapped around his skin. it is the afternoon, and that means most of the tours should be done. however, that doesn’t include his departure from the library. he emits a loud sigh, which concludes with a random “shhh” from a girl with glasses. he shoots her an irritated glare before he lifts himself from the chair.

he needs to look through the shelves for a better book. that also means he has to walk through many since he prefers to search. he releases a small sigh and rolls his neck back to single out a crack, then paces himself through the many paths to his destination. as his eyes is zooming through the novels, an individual halts his way from achieving the book that he wanted. it happens to be a female, but she is trying to reach for a book. she’s too short, so she can’t get it. he brings his fingertip to the book and tips it from its previous position, carefully handing her the novel with a small grin. “there ya go, shorty.”

@mark tuan "and if you look to your right at three o'clock, you'll see the performing arts building!" her hand gestures to the said direction whilst her posture remains in its statically straight beeline, a polite simper plastered across her visage as a few groups of high school seniors, tourists, and interns coddle together in clusters to sneak a peek at the hall, all seemingly eager in which further encourages the woman. "you know the usual; dance studios, theatre premieres, soundproof singing room -- whatever you're looking for, the building is literal art in form. our ballet instructor actually --"

"miss yooa?" a rather timid voice was heard. yooa's eyebrow cocked in habitual intent, humming in response just as the younger girl further parted her lips. "is it true that mark tuan attends this college?"

yooa's expression couldn't help but convey vital signs of confusion, indicative of her lack of knowledge of this said individual. her chin pursed out and she shook her head once. "mark tuan? that, i'm unaware of. i apologize, i transferred out not too long ago and fall term is about to start, so i'm clueless as to other students around campus," she could hear quiet snickers from her tour, mostly because they found it silly how the woman was naive to the infamous man mentioned. "i'm sure if you ask the office, they'll help."

"and that concludes our tour! please help yourselves around, just try to not disturb any class that's in progress right now. if you get lost, find the nearest security guard and they'll help you out. have a nice day!" she almost elicited a tired sigh before the last student was out of her view, ultimately leaning against the library's bookshelf, as that was their final stop of the showing. with the whole plight of this mark tuan guy going forgotten, she took a few moments to herself to calm any nerves before her gaze squinted up at a book in particular that perched itself on the top tier of the shelf. one of her interns had suggested it for her to read and she thought, well why not? she's at the library, she still has an account registered in the system -- who could it hurt? but to her demise, she was too short to reach for the said book, the bare tips of her nails able to scratch softly at the hardened cover teasingly. "damn," she mumbled under her breath, resting her arm down to her side, only to then attempt once more with her other arm.
