Battle centre!
One major thing should be noted: Battling is one of the main components, but you do not have to participate to be an integral part of this roleplay. You can be a collector, a trainer, a retired pageantess. This is why the Professor requires all those seeking to battle to register their pokemon here so they can be assigned proper moves without a lot of fuss.
It is up to the trainer who seeks to battle to research which statuses and moves are allowed at their current pokemon's level. To register, tag the professor in this room with the name and level of your pokemon, as well as which moves you've 'trained' them to have as well as their status. The professor is educated, so he will know if a pokemon is unable to have a certain move at a certain level, so be thorough ;) It should be noted that moves may be swapped and changed with TMs and levelling up, but once again the trainer needs to tag the Professor in the Battle Hub if they wish to use a TM, or have taught their pokemon a level-up move so the Professor can edit that pokemon's profile accordingly.
There are two main ways to battle here: personal or moderated. Moderated battles take place in the Coloseum of Ruin when two or more parties request an official battle from the professor. All parties seeking to battle each other professionally must tag the professor as well as their opponents in this room. The professor will confirm or deny said request and redirect the battle to the colloseum, where the professor will officially conduct the battle and disclose damage, status effects, weaknesses, etc. The other way to battle is more personal, and is completely up to the roleplayers/trainers to keep tabs on status effects, abilities, weaknesses, and HP. If there is any disagreement, they may take it up with the Professor for a final say.
How to Literally Battle once it has commenced
- Let the professor run down the rules of the battle, invite both trainers to release their first pokemon and decide who goes first with a dice roll. The first trainer may then introduce their first pokemon into the ring and command a move.
- Both trainers must wait in between move-exchanges for the professor to announce any status or damage changes.
- The second trainer may now counter attack.
- Rinse and repeat until one pokemon reaches 0 HP. Remember that in between each attack reply, the Professor must declare status or damage changes before the other trainer can continue.
- Note: Z-moves can only be used once per battle and Mega evolutions devolve after the battle ends. However, in personal threads (not battles) you can use both as often as you'd like.
- Additional Note: HP goes as follows: For Basic Evolution pokemon its 60, for Basic Pokemon its 120, for 1st stage Evolution pokemon, it's 100, and for 2nd stage evolution pokemon it's 150. For mega evolution pokemon it's 200, for Gigantamax pokemon it is 500, and for legendaries it is 1,000.
