@jeon wonwoo. no one could have predicted that someone like yujin would end up in a situation like this: freshly moved into her home kingdom's castle with plans to marry the king. coming from nearly nothing, yujin worked hard on her family's farm ever since she was little, wanting nothing more than to make her parents proud of her. yet when one of the wheels belonging to the king's royal carriage hit a rock and fell off, it was yujin's family who came to their aid and repaired the wheel to perfection. once the king had caught a glance of yujin, he, much like everyone else, couldn't resist her beauty and knew he had to have her.

despite not knowing the ruler or having ever laid eyes upon him before, yujin agreed to move in with him and become his wife in just little over a month's time. in return, her family would be granted a larger home and protection since their farm was located outside of the city's large walls and exposed to bandits and other groups who posed a threat.

ever since moving in, however, yujin discovered that living in luxury with the king wasn't all that it was cracked up to be.

their routines clashed, their personalities didn't click, and it seemed to yujin that king jaehyun only wanted to be around her when they were intimate or planning on being intimate. not that she didn't enjoy the and his rough touches, but she also desired to have heart-to-heart conversations and sweet moments together.

because of her unhappiness, yujin started to seek comfort elsewhere, particularly with one of the knights whose job consisted of remaining outside of the master bedroom, day in and day out, to keep the future queen (and king, when he decided to come around) safe and secure.

did she feel unfaithful? a bit, but she figured no one could blame her for acting this way.
