bourbon ball: lowdown.
annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd guess who's late once again? i'm so sorry guys, for keeping you waiting like this, but here we go!!! things will finally get kickstarted! if you have any questions, please let me know as soon as possible! ; u ; pm admin taehyung for clarifications if you need them! i'll be busy every now and again, but if it's admin-related i'll always hit you back up!
the theme of this event is "dream realm". in an au based on the supernatural, i'd suspect you imagine our balls to be just as otherworldly. with masks in tow, you all will be able to go to rooms centered around a particular theme. each room holds its own theme, where you will be allowed to play the part of whatever "role" you're given. for just a moment (during the span of this rp), you aren't just your character... you're portraying a fragment of this elegant world set out before you.
but, as with every dream, there are cracks that threaten to break that world. your job is to find those cracks whom we call "riggers". a rigger is a person who's role either goes against all the other roles, or who stands out particularly strongly. the rigger doesn't feel right, so it's up to you to come to the admins with your guesses if you think you've found the rigger of whatever room/realm you're in. think of it this way: "one of these things is not like the other". if you guess correctly and identify the rigger in secret, the admins will grant you access to one of the other rooms and you'll be allowed to move on.

bourbon ball: the steps.
1.) apply for your "masked character(s)" with whatever masked account(s) you have. if you have more than one character participating in the event, they each have their own account, and you are free to switch up whichever one you use whenever you'd like. the goal of these masked accounts isn't just to simulate a true masquerade but to eliminate face-chasing and user-chasing. just apply for the character that corresponds your masked account (bottom of the masterlist) with something random in the app like "Hi, guys!" or something. we'll accept anything.
2.) once you've been allowed into your masked character, head to this room. roll the dice once, to be shown to whatever dream realm room you are to start off in. as soon as you get a number, pm admin taehyung who will assign you a "role" to play. more details about the role will come in that pm, so ask whatever questions you think you need.
3.) at that point, the game begins. head to the room and begin rping. try not to mention your character's name if you're using 3rd person, just so no one can know the identity of your character. try your best (we won't judge your efforts) to portray whatever roles you've been given. remember, your character is stuck in a dream. he or she truly believes that they're in this realm, up until they see the "rigger" and start to question everything.
4.) pm admin taehyung with the identity of the rigger (we'll try to have at least 3 or so set up in each room). the riggers, themselves, won't even know they're riggers. so they can report other riggers if they find a pattern, or themselves if they think they've been assigned that role.
5.) if you're correct, your character (real character, not the masked one) will be given a token prize item from that world. and you'll be allowed to move onto the next room (move to the room down, don't re-roll).
6.) rinse and repeat as many times as you want. you don't have to move rooms, you don't have to guess riggers. if you like the dream you've been settled in, feel free to remain there. e u e

das right ;; i'm featuring the whole coadmin team this week. they've been wonderful in holding down the fort and keeping the place afloat while i've been so busy. i literally couldn't have done any of this without them. during this event, they'll be hiding amongst you guys, not as greenies but as masked characters. i want them to take the time to enjoy themselves as much as you guys could. if ever you get a moment today, let them know that they're the friggin bomb for all that they do ; u ;

matchmaking will be easy. we'll assign your masked character to a room with another masked character. you both have been chosen to be there for a reason (which is why the matchmaking app was so detailed). your goal is to figure out why. what is it that you both have in common? speak to one another as regular character attending a ball. you aren't in dreamworlds during the matchmaking.
