i'm not a fan of grammar

+ i wanted to post this yesterday to end the day on a more positive note but i didn't get the chance to

also, i wanted to talk about melanie martinez since forever and especially when she announced the release of her new album

and someone else had the same thoughts as well because this person has been persistent to get me to post about her and i love that

note: these stories are not mine, i give the people who submitted these stories or opinions a voice they want to project themselves in.

We all know Melanie Martinez, the one who dresses like a human baby doll with whimsical and eery music that does not match her image at all, but completes it to a "T". She's unique and had everyone's ears in 2014 and 2015 but today as well.

I along with many others have been a closeted fan of her's, I have merch I bought a long time ago that I still to this day go through happily. When the allegations came out, my heart dropped, but I also felt so suspicious about who this Timothy Heller girl was. They were best friends and I assume an ex of Melanie's, and to erupt the media about her being by this now rising singer seemed really odd to me. People jumped the hate train and decided the break merchandise, and this was around the time I recently bought her Baby Milk perfume, and when it arrived, I had no clue what to do with it. I tried to give it to a friend who said she wanted it, and I haven't opened the packaging yet, but she absolutely refused to take it and called me a terrible person for supporting the singer. I lost one of my best friends over a singer, how stupid.

As the allegations started to soar even more, so did claims of her ualizing children and romanticizing mental illnesses. I never saw her do any of this in her music videos or in her lyrics, yes, she dresses like the character she created for the theme of her albums. Not to mention people forget Lolita Fashion seems to be something she's into or at least dabbled in, and that does not mean she's ualizing kids. In her new album, she addresses everything wrong with society, mentally and physically and I have not once seen anything wrong. The only thing that has actually made me uncomfortable was her song "Teacher's Pet", I think many people side eye her because it's from the victim's standpoint as her wanting to be used and with this teacher. I think it makes everyone uncomfortable, but when we make fun of young girls and boys who slept with their teachers, we often don't think about as to how they could have been manipulated by this predator who is so close to them in their daily lives. She explores the behaviors in this immoral relationship and how it goes back and forth from something to nothing. We're in the head of someone, who's mind is being turned by someone much older than her and capable of understanding what they're doing to her. I don't think it should have been a song but I do think it's one of those things that had to be addressed in the direction of where Melanie was taking this album. I just don't see any of the big claims non-fans are making, and the situation with Timothy Heller has been "proven" to be a lie so many times. I even heard that Timothy was laughing about the situation when it was mentioned in the comment section of her live on Instagram.

I support the victims of and other ual torments, but when you lie about such a thing it can traumatizing to who you're putting the blame on.

note: i actually do like her music, her fashion is not my taste but she's cute and i'm not an avid fan of her's. so when this was all going down i was not present.
