nah, FCK THIS

i have been a melody since about 2015. as a cube stan, i loved btob just as easily as i did b2st, 4minute, apink (when they were affiliated with cube), and then clc when they debuted. i fell in love with the members and i honestly thought they were one of the funniest boy groups in kpop, and i still think they are, alongside seventeen and got7 ngl. 

but what's happening with ilhoon rn is just so upsetting. 

he is getting a 4 year sentence and a 133 million won fine for smoking weed???? i understand him getting a fine or some sort of sentence since yes, he did break the law, BUT 4 YEARS??

EN JJY GOT 5 YEARS AND HE WAS THE CENTRE OF A WHOLE SCANDAL. GOO HARA'S ABUSIVE EX-BOYFRIEND ONLY GOT A YEAR. AND ILHOON GETS 4 YEARS FOR SMOKING WEED???????? IRON GOT 2 YEARS FOR ASSAULTING HIS GIRLFRIEND????

as a woman who, yes, i have dealt with ty men in my life as i am sure most of us have, i am upset at this. as someone who, while i don't like weed myself and i avoid it, i understand the benefits since i have a lot of friends and family who smoke weed medically or even just recreationally (and tbh, i find weed to be way less harmful than any other substance, even alcohol). 

but also as a melody, this is so upsetting since it says in the tweet that ilhoon was using it for stress. im literally so upset from all angles.

again i understand him serving a sentence or paying a fine bc he did break a law and while i want weed to be legalized everywhere, that is obviously not the reality. best-case scenario would be for them to stay out of his en business but you know, this ain't the world we live in so i was expecting maybe less than a year or just a fine.

im really upset bc ilhoon is a sweet person and there are a lot of netizens standing up for him. im like crying rn bc of it gfhjhsdjd i'm sorry. it is only a request/demand from the prosecution so far but still. i'm still upset. i'm still angry as a woman and as a melody. 

please support btob in kingdom if you can. stream their music and i know a lot of you have faves in kingdom rn but please check out btob bc they're a wonderful and talented group and i'm so upset they had to lose a member bc of this. i hope they can come together again in the future (WITHOUT CUBE) but i am not sure. 

anyways sorry about this. i'm just very upset about this, especially for the victims of burning sun and goo hara, and other ual assault and abuse victims that have to deal with like this all the time.
