ngl, i was looking through old rps and it got me a touch excited. i kind of want to do an atla (inspired?) au even though i KNOW those don't last long, but it feels like it could be fun. i want to do it in a way that we can actually do probending fights and stuff for money and i want to be able to give the rp an established setting or situation of sorts so i have the following ideas for it. they aren't anything major, but they're different directions i can picture taking this rp. let me know which you guys would prefer to see.
option one — university/school: this is probably a basic option, but wild can stem from basic things. if i go this route, i'd want there to be actual classes or just create a sense that everyone is actually learning how to be a bender and how to progress as one. there would still be that probending element, but maybe it comes in the form of a tournament between students instead of just randos fighting for money. with this idea, i'm thinking it will focus more on the lighthearted, feel-good type moments that can come in rps, but idk... knowing me, i may find some way to make it dark.
option two — military/soldier: this option is kind of something i'm more curious about trying, but i was thinking that with this option, maybe the rp takes place after a major war against some external force (idk what yet) and everyone who is a bender is kind of settling down now. nothing would be wrong with that normally except these former soldiers don't know what to do with themselves. the world they protected no longer needs their power and the world is different from how they last remembered, so it doesn't feel like home anymore. in this kind of rp, i hope to focus on the struggles that come with trying to readjust to the mundane and readjust to what is considered a "normal" life, yes, but also i want to see what kind of characters come out of this basis. like, imagine you've been a hero for so long and you fought in a war you never really asked to be in and now it's just like "thanks for saving us ig" or "wow what now?" basically. what do you do? do you become a supervillain because people are ungrateful? do you take advantage of this chance and go after your dream career? do you settle down and get married to your long time crush only for them to cheat on you with the former soldier you've always hated? who knows man!
random idea: i'm also thinking that whether i go for the first or second option, i want the muses in this rp to basically be isekai'd (transported to another world, for the non-weebs) into this alta inspired world and they're hailed as heroes and and they now have these powers to help defend it. idk if you guys will like the first or second option more, so i'll just keep everything vague and open for now ig.
