Other formats for rp?

Asking a question. :-)

Outside of role-play Republic, and tumblr. What other places have you guys seen a rp community? I'm aware of Discord and Guilded which are places you can role-play, but you need to know people to get into or access to their servers, otherwise, you're just a floating log in the ocean of accounts. Looking to expand my horizons outside of this website. No comment is too small. I've ran into a couple of people who are from a forum webwite but they never clarified and have since left. I think people role-play on Twitter as well, but I am a paragraph role-player and Twitter has a character limit.

I agree with sappai about the back burner options - the rp communities on those three websites are not welcoming or nice, for the most part. the formats of those websites also hinder proper rping, too. I tried twitter rping, and people will have “freelance” accounts where they go by aliases and rp with others/make connections to be in the loop of things?? and know when an actual rp is going to open. so other than being super convoluted, that community in particular is filled with so much drama omg. if we think the problem of being too ooc here on rpr is bad, just wait until you learn more about rping on twitter; ’s fr wild there KDJDKJDJD

Beyond what has already been recommended, I know you can find discord roleplays on tumblr. I’ve been a part of a couple and they were always very welcoming! Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are always backburner options but I’ve heard they’re not the nicest places to rp on.

check out dreamwidth if you’re open to playing ocs or existing characters from shows/books/video games. i used to rp there a lot! only thing to note is that they’re not big on rpf or real person fiction so you likely won’t be able to rp a celeb going by their irl name (like playing as jihyo as an idol from twice).

in my experience, i've also done mewe but you have to make a new account for every character which can be annoying. i've been wanting to try jcink rping (forum rps ig) but i haven't taken the time to really learn them. other than those platforms, you have tumblr and rpr that foster the ability to do more than like... one liners and shorter rp posts.
