this blogpost will be long and will be about ville de lavande. click away now if you're tired of seeing the rp.
but also don't click away because you might miss out on a chance to plot with me. maybe.
this blog will talk about the new event! and connections for all of my characters.
remember: ville de lavande is friends-only. you must add me to be able to join. i will also only accept accounts over 6 months old to protect the members of our community. if you have another account that is over 6 months old, or have a friend already in the rp to vouch for you, you are more than welcome to join.

lavande's local market event.

who: literally everyone currently in lavande, provence, france.
what: an annual market celebrating the town's artisans.

info: temporary characters are single use characters that a writer can pick up to fulfill a plot request. more info here.
if you only have a little bit of time to spare, or have one plot you're itching to write, you can pick up a temporary character! just know that you are required to leave after one plot, nor are you allowed multiple plots per character (because you might as well make them a permanent character, which, by the way, you can totally do).

nari boo.

faceclaim: huh yunjin, le sserafim
age: 23 (2000)
occupation: content creator, twitch streamer (primarily valorant)
brief background: born and raised in lavande, provence by a loving (and comfortably well-off) nuclear family, nari had never truly known a life that was short of happiness. that was, until her brother passed on their birthday, when she had turned twenty-one and he was meant to turn twenty-four.
wanted connections / plots:
- brother's ex: you were high school sweethearts. you have been together for years and, while everyone was surprised your relationship lasted that long, they had also been very supportive. the same could be said for namoo's (and nari's) parents, who were the ones that suggested he marry you in the first place. he had planned to propose on your anniversary, that was just a week after his birthday. that was, until tragedy fell and the universe took him too soon, leaving you heartbroken and wondering.
  - notes: if you choose this plot, you get to decide whether your character is in touch with nari's family or not. they would obviously try to reach out and support you, but that decision falls entirely on your character.
  - preferences: about his age (he's 3 years older than nari, so he would be 26 today); no gender preference
- just one, big, happy boo family: among namoo and nari's friends, the boo residence had always been their second home. from the start, mama and papa boo welcomed their children's friends into their home with open arms and a delicious meal, never once letting a child go home hungry. even when her children were away for university, she invited them into her home, caring for them like they were her own. simply put, mama and papa boo were everyone's parents. even today, they'd still welcome their children's friends into their home, especially in the absence of their beloved son. mama hwayoung, in particular, believes that having their children's friends over make the house feel full again.

occupation: trauma nurse
brief background: i honestly do not have much going for her. she's a nurse and really shy. technically an orphan but lives with her grandmother. studying to go to medical school. i wasn't going to put her in this blog but i thought i can throw her out there and hopefully further shape her background with potential connections.
wanted connections / plots:
- first love: you dated back in high school and grew apart when you moved away for university. she did not realize you had moved back until you bump into each other at a coffee shop.
  - relationship: ex-boyfriend
  - preferences: male, around her age (she is 23, turning 24 in a few days)
  - notes: could be a temporary character, could be permanent. NOT ENDGAME! potential friendship.

chaoxing yue.

age: 24 (1999)
occupation: law student, second year
brief background: as the second child and only daughter of paris' rising entrepreneurial power couple, chaoxing yue was born with a silver spoon in . chaoxiang and mèngyáo spared no expense in raising their daughter, giving her nothing but the best in hopes that she will grow to be a woman they're proud of. that pride has its limits, however. coming from an immigrant family who quickly rose to success through their business, chaoxing is expected to follow in their footsteps and eventually take over the business, alongside her older brother. chaoxing, however, finds passion within law, which is fueled entirely by an event in her life that she refuses to talk about.
wanted connections / plots:
- brother's in town (event exclusive): chaoxing hadn't seen her brother in years, even before she moved to the quaint little town of lavande from her hometown, paris. that wasn't entirely their fault—he was always so busy with their family's business, being the perfect brother he was. not that it mattered to her; their relationship had always been quite fragmented—he was always so serious and had a clear path in life; she was a little more carefree and always rejected her parents' expectation for her to run the family business. needless to say, if there was anyone she had expected would follow her all the way to lavande, her brother would be the last on her list. imagine her surprise when she spotted him not only in town, but standing behind one of the stands in the middle of town square during lavande's annual local market.
  - relationship: older brother, slightly antagonistic
  - preferences: male, at least 2 years older
  - requirements: chinese fc
  - notes: potential to become permanent
- therapy: chaoxing hasn't spoken about what happened to her back in paris since before she left. this is her chance to let things go.

a final note.

i can understand that friends-only rps are kind of intimidating to join. i also know that it kind of doesn't make sense to make the rp friends-only when almost everyone (with the exception of accounts under 6 months old) can join. honestly, i just wanted to create a cozy community where i know that the people who will join will actually write. the goal is to have a long-lasting, very self-paced, and very welcoming environment that writers can come to, to simply, well, write.
i know i am biased for saying that it truly is cozy, but it feels that way to me. the members of this community are truly such a joy to be around, and i do believe that everyone is really really welcoming.
also, it is kind of a hybrid between the nonau and au environments. the ic chat (which is canonically a groupchat only residents of the town can access) is pretty active, but not at the expense of actual threads being written and posted. i have seen the most beautiful profiles from our members and i am honestly always in awe.
so, really, if you need a place to join to write that is actually self-paced, what's stopping you from joining?
