he was raised by parents of wealth, yet from an early age changmin disliked the idea of being raised in a way that was too protected and shut out from society. wealth covers only so much - his father drank too much and his mother always felt that she mated with the wrong one, and growing up seeing the dispair in the eyes of his mother is what brought changmin to leave home at the young age of sixteen.
really, he had nowhere to go, and his only consolation were the stars that illuminated the night sky. he traveled for years, learning about the world he lived in, found others like himself who taught him the the positive traits that came with being a wolf, and the more he learned about it the more fascinating he thought it was, since his parents never took the time to tell him about their own upbringing, and disguised themselves as full fledged humans rather than what they really were.
the beta's hear always lied with the stars, and he fell in love with the world above the ground. he learned to pin point what colors meants, what constellation they belonged to. his curiosity in a new world - that of wolves - led him to the realization that he wanted to forever learn about the mysteries of the skies, about how the universe functioned, as a way to escape the reality that was his childhood. the stars, then, the light, the way that even if they have died, light reaches the earth - it became changmin's comfort, changmin's passion and love, and he feels forever indebted to something that needs no gifts.

personality

he has a knack for collecting trinkets, as well for enjoying the scent of coffee and the just-rained grass. his fascination is stuck in the clouds, literally, which is why he decided to study astronomy and became a teacher, because the stars have always been his escape from the world around him. but when that doesn't seem to quite work, he picks up one of the few poetry collections he has lying around in his run-down apartment, read a bit for his own sanity and creativity (although he isn't good at being "creative"). very quiet when need be, but will probably ramble on and on about things he really, really loves.
