Son hyejoo, 16, freshman. a lone wolf too busy maintaining her straight 'a's to make friends. at least, that's what she says.

history / about

son hyejoo was raised by her mother alongside her older sister; her parents had separated when hyejoo was four. hyejoo didn't mind that fact since she never got to know her father but she sometimes wished her mother didn't have to be working so much.

maybe because hyejoo felt indebted to her mother, hyejoo didn't want to burden her mother so she tried to be the perfect child. she studied hard to get good grades and spent her free time with her family instead. hence, instead of making friends, hyejoo would always be at home, either studying, with her family or gaming (a secret interest hidden from everyone, especially her mother).

fast forward a few years, hyejoo is a freshman at spring gardens high school. she may have straight 'a's and excellent conduct grades, but she doesn't really have friends. she tells herself she doesn't need friends since she should focus on getting a scholarship instead. (but honestly, she's forgotten how to even make friends and doesn't dare to step out of her comfort zone to try.)  nor does she have much interests outside of studying (besides gaming which she considers useless) so every day is just another day for her to study. she tells herself that's all she needs but some part of her wishes that her life didn't revolve around getting a good grade.

personality / quirks

personality ;
shy; hyejoo never had any friends so she doesn't really know how to approach others. hardworking; hyejoo wants her mother to be proud of her so she puts a lot of effort in whatever she does. selfish;  because of her lack of friends as well as closeness to family, she can be quite an egoist at times, putting her and her family's needs first. straightforward; hyejoo is quite honest with her thoughts and doesn't like to be waste time, both words and actions. whether you like it or not, is up to you.

likes ;
her family; these people are the closest people to hyejoo and she cherishes them dearly. gaming; a guilty pleasure of hyejoo that she indulges in after studying. she would like to give up on it for the sake of her studies but she really enjoys it so she hasn't yet.

3rd pov over 1st, but i'm fine with both so just let me know what you'd prefer. for 3rd pov it'll usually be one to a few paragraphs, depending but i usually mirror.
