BIOGRAPHY
Aphrodite, god of love, beauty, passion, pleasure, and procreation. Born from waters in which Uranus spilled blood into, from the seashells on the shore, Aphrodite was raised as the most beautiful god known to man. With bronzed skin, full pink lips, and a dark set of eyes, he was so beautiful, many thought it a crime to touch.
Yet, even with that idea in mind, those sought for Aphrodite. They would give him all of their riches, everything they ever earned and loved just for a night with the god of passion. They thought that doing so would require them something even greater than Elysium, that having one night with Aphrodite would be something worth dying over.
Maybe it was. Maybe Aphrodite's body was worth war, ruin, terror. Proportions so exquisite, it was hard to believe he was born from seafoam and not hand crafted by Uranus himself. The grooves of his muscles, in his stomach, in his arms. In the legs that would lay out stretched before you. The muscles in the chest that you would see above you.
Aphrodite was no easy god, in fact, he would turn away basically everyone. Long stretches of time would go by where Aphrodite would feel as celibate as Artemis. He didn't seem to mind. Though he yearned for affection, intimacy, he would sit back in his chair, thinking nothing of having someone near. Anyone near. Just any mortal or demigod he would meet in a grungy bar, in a stuffy nightclub. Aphrodite didn't give himself to just anyone, and he wouldn't give himself for the sake of their pleasure. In a life of solitude, with no one to respect him, to love him, he did everything for himself.
With loves, came children. With children, came love. Aphrodite felt a place in his world, even if the children were nothing like him. Even if they were a spirit of war, an island goddess. They were his children, the loves of his life. And he would do anything to protect him.
As each and every one of them grew older, Aphrodite felt himself to be in the same pit. Now, he is careful. He is careful with his body, even more so than before, careful who he shows every bit and piece to. There's nothing to say that Aphrodite is a bit broken on the inside, but nobody seems to care.
He is just a pretty face, after all.

PERSONALITY
Many tend to think of Aphrodite as one thing: super sweet and kind. Yes, Aphrodite is like. He loves to compliment people as he finds beauty in everything, deems everyone to be beautiful. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, aren't they? Aphrodite sees beauty in personality, in the way one presents themselves. A beautiful person can be anyone, no matter how different they look from what someone may find "conventionally attractive". Aphrodite hates the term, hates beauty standards with a throbbing passion.
To be loved by Aphrodite, you don't need to be beautiful by everyone's standards. You are already loved by Aphrodite, and he will be there for you, even if you don't know how to love, even if you don't want to love, ually or romantically. As long as there is a throbbing in your heart, love for thy family, for the sea that crashes against the shore: Aphrodite will be there for you.
There is one person Aphrodite finds irrefuteably ugly. And no, it's not some ugly politician, someone who acts just as ugly as they look. No, the person Aphrodite finds the ugliest is himself.The person he sees when he looks in the mirror, completely and utterly ugly. He doesn't deserve the rights to beauty, doesn't deserve to be worshipped. He is attractive, a pretty face. But beauty goes so much deeper than what he sees in himself. Instead of looking at himself and seeing beauty, he sees selfishness. He sees egotism. He sees everything about himself that makes him uglier than the monsters in Tartarus. He sees a man who feigns the importance of looks, , romantics to hide what he truly feels on the inside. It's melancholic, the way that he lives.
But it's what he must do. He has given up on finding beauty within himself and finds it within others. He is no figurehead for beauty, he is no role model. He is the one to lift others up, call them love, because truly, he loves them. He loves them because they are everything he can't be but wishes to have.
