@alleglorys:

Gazing at the blue sky, blooming once again, I want to be someone's everything.

— Fallin' Flower - SEVENTEEN.

history / about / bio

•.*★ important。 TW. Mentions of suicide, murder, and crimes.

Blessed with an abundance of luxury and wealth that anyone else could only dream of, Joshua Hong — or at this point, Nakahara Ryuusei was raised to be the heir to the yakuza that his Japanese father, Nakahara Hiroshi, headed — Yamaguchi-gumi, the largest organized crime syndicate in Japan, with nearly 40,000 members of the present, its homebase being in Kobe. There was no other path for him to take, even if his path was a neverending competition with his older brother, who wanted nothing more than to inherit the leadership. And yet despite being the younger — and illegitimate — son, everyone had expected for him to take it.

A genius prodigy who basked under the focus of a spotlight, popular for his visuals and gentlemanly demeanor, yet sly and cunning — truly, Nakahara Ryuusei felt too much like the perfect man that everyone else had wanted to be in their world.

Growing up, he was surrounded by the sound of gunshots and the smell of bullets and the metallic scent of blood. He was taught how to manipulate his enemies, how to have them play by his demands even with just his words. He was taught how to wield a knife, how to fire a gun, and how to kill a person in the quickest, most efficient way possible. He was taught to be an actor, a fighter and a leader — he was taught how to wear a mask effectively, and it was one he wore wonderfully.

Nakahara Ryuusei, the demon prodigy; Nakahara Ryuusei, prince of Yamaguchi-gumi.

However, his brother couldn't accept it. Ryuusei was the son born out of an affair with his mother being a Korean tourist at the time, then becoming an illegal immigrant that was under the protection of Yamaguchi-gumi. Yet why was it that he was the one being seen as someone who was more fit to be the leader? Why was someone — an outsider — the one who was recognized as the head, even as young as he were?

The rivalry between him and his brother was intense and bloody. The lives of those around them were often involved, and try as Ryuusei might to protect those who had the misfortune of knowing him, he couldn't protect all of them. There was only so much he could do at his age — there was only so much he could achieve with his power.

Both young and with him slowly becoming hungry for power, he did everything he could to protect those he held dearly. His mother, his friends — he played the same game as his brother did, but with different rules. He was smarter, much more efficient — but his brother was more cunning and much more cruel than he could ever be.

When their father died, Ryuusei was only twenty. His brother was twenty-five. And that was when the yakuza had split into two — each choosing their side. One half sided with him, and the other with his brother.

What pushed him to actually fight his brother was the murder of his mother. It was when he had realized that his mother had loved his father far too much, that it only took a few whispers and subtle pulls from his brother's side to make his mother lose her mind. It was what it took for his mother to hang herself in a tree in the garden — one that stood right in front of his room.

Ryuusei saw crimson.

War broke out between the two sides. There was only one position, and their father's will had been burnt, never to be seen again. Many had whispered that it was actually his name that was written there — there was no doubt that it was him. It was only his brother and the people that had sided with him that wanted him out of the family.

This fight had lasted for two years. It was almost like a game of chase between a cat and a mouse, and it evolved throughout the months. It disturbed not only Kobe, but many other cities in Japan as well — they knew the name of the organization, but never the faces of those that led the disturbances, the violence on the streets. Police had tried their best to capture those responsible — but the war between the two brothers ended before the police could.

Ryuusei had stood above his brother's bloodied body, a gun pointed straight at the latter's forehead. Eyes icy cold, unlike his anger that burned from within him. It would be far too easy for him to pull the trigger. It would be far too easy for him to end his brother's life right there and then.

But he didn't pull the trigger.

Instead, he banished his brother from ever appearing in his sight ever again. His words were absolute. There was no questioning it — he was the new leader of Yamaguchi-gumi.

He was the youngest man to have ever become the leader of the organization, and his name spread like wildfire.

His reign was different. Despite their illegal transactions, they were less violent than before. They were calmer, much more disciplined as they worked. He was beginning to change the image his predecessors had set for the organization. Of course, there were mixed reactions about this — many had liked the change, and there were others that didn't.

And for those that didn't, they began to change their sides.

As for Ryuusei, he fell in love.

It was something he had learned to loathe. It was the reason why his mother had died. She had loved her husband too much — enough for her to follow him in death. It was the reason why Ryuusei had lost the only family he had left, and love had become pain and grief and mourning somewhere along his time as part of the yakuza.

But he fell in love — he fell in love with a man.

No, he didn't notice it all too easily. He would push down his own assumptions. With every moment spent together, with every word exchanged, with every hand holding, with all those almost kisses — he pushed it down. He pushed his emotions away, couldn't exactly accept that he, of all people, would have fallen in love as well.

What forced him to realize his own heart was the first time the man had gotten hurt. It came with a violent pull on his heart — it came as a "holy , I'm in love with him, aren't I?" It was then followed by a hug, and a violent urge to make the man's attackers pay for what they did.

But Ryuusei never said anything about it. It was fear that had gagged his lips and held his heart in its tight grip. He was afraid that if he had said anything, they would have ended in tragedy like his parents.

And yet, tragedy came for them anyway.

Conflicts arose from the two criminal organizations, and Ryuusei's brother had fueled the flames even more by joining as a third party. Ryuusei's love was torn away from his hold — kidnapped and held hostage in exchange for Ryuusei's resignation.

Ryuusei did. Without any sort of hesitations.

But his brother didn't keep his word. He had taunted Ryuusei for being so quick to give everything up for love — a clumsy thing to indulge oneself when they were in a position like him. This time, his brother had played a game with him. If Ryuusei could find where his lover was, then his lover would be alive.

If he couldn't, then... his lover would die.

Ryuusei was forced to play by his brother's hand — with each five minutes, they would hurt his lover. And yet, no matter how much he had tried, he couldn't find his lover on time. When he had arrived at the scene, it was already far too late.

His lover was dead.

Ryuusei thought that love was a curse instead of a blessing.

He had gone on a rampage then. He singlehandedly killed all the men in sight — drowned his hands in more and more sin as more blood spilled and tainted his being. His heart had felt cold, far too cold as he held his lover's body in his arms. Pained screams pierced the night.

When morning came, there was nothing there but corpses and blood — a massacre, almost.

The next week, Ryuusei had flown to South Korea, and had legally changed his name from Nakahara Ryuusei to Joshua Hong, taking in his mother's maiden name. He had decided this would be a new life for him — a brand new start, if you will. He decided to open a flower shop in Seoul, and he had laid low ever since.

personality

persona
lity
Joshua is a gentleman through and through. He views himself as a calm person, and is hard to anger or fluster. Whenever he speaks, he speaks softly and always a polite tone — rarely does he ever speak in an authoritative voice, only when necessary. Most of his responses to those he interacts with are on auto-pilot, and he tends to lie  with a straight face and without shame. Sincerity isn't an emotion one would easily find with him, and he puts everyone at arm's length, still, never allowing anyone to get closer to him than he's comfortable with

He is bad at dealing with emotions, and has a reputation of being a heartbreaker among people. Regardless of him making it known that he isn't one for commitments, many people hope for it anyway. While he is bad at dealing with emotions, he does excel in logic. He is both calculative and manipulative, if the situation asks for it. However, he is rather playful with those he becomes close with, though he does avoid being honest still。

Before You Approach Me

•.*★ important。 Try to have something in mind and read my profile before actually talking to me about roleplaying. I am open to brainstorming, but please do not come to me completely empty-handed. Reading my profile is important.

Writing & Plotting Style

•.*★ writing style。 3rd pov only. My length ranges from a single paragraph to a whole novella, depending on how high my muse is for the thread. I do get carried away often times, but it doesn't have to be mirrored.

•.*★ plotting style。 I prefer plotting over winging, even if it's just a small backbone of what we're supposed to be doing. This is why you should read my profile first and come to me with an idea in mind. I often do the same.

Starters are based on who seems to make the most sense to start. If it makes more sense for my character to start, then I will write the starter, and vice versa.

Activity & Reply Speed

•.*★ important。 I rarely ever poke people, and do not like being poked. 10 days. Please only poke me after 10 days. I usually know who I'm writing with, and if I haven't replied to you yet, that means either of the two things: a. I don't have enough muse for it yet, and; b. I'm busy. Often times, it's a mixture of both. Please don't use to my replying to other threads faster than yours against me. It's a simple matter of which of the threads I have more muse with.

I'm usually fast with my replies, sometimes with regardless of the length. But again, it depends on the muse. We can always drop/pick up our thread(s), but make sure you communicate with me. Also know that I might be active in the chat infrequently or a lot. I'm not a very consistent person when it comes to this.

Location Preferences

I definitely prefer the rooms to keep the rp active! If it's not possible to get a room for it, then walls we go! My PMs are only for OOC business. Please don't post on my walls unless I allow you to.
