VENGEANCE.

This is what Kyo vowed to obtain after his father's death at the hands of the Shapeshifters.

Kyo's great-grandfather was a shapeshifter who had discovered the benefits of the consumption of other shapeshifter's flesh.

The man was convinced after his first taste of a local criminal's cooked flesh and bone that the obscure meal choice had heightened his already enhanced speed, power and strength.

His desire for power consumed him, and he continued to capture criminals, feeding on them to gain his strength.

"This is justice," he said to himself.

"This is the way things should be.

People who do unspeakable things should be punished.

With death.

Sweet, delicious, death."

It wasn't long before his cannibalistic penchant became known, and the reigning royals banished him from their rainforest kingdom.

He trudged through the many continents around Heleo, surviving by feeding off the crime lords of every country.

Eventually he came across the Wastelands. Feeling a sense of pride finding someone who understood his feeding habits, he embraced life there, eventually marrying a ghoul in their kingdom.

Years and years later, Kyo was born - but make no mistake, he is in no way like his great-grandafther.

After a group of Shapeshifters struck his father and mother down in an attempt to destroy the family's blood line, Kyo became a changed man.

He was angry at the people who had banished his great-grandfather - the same people who'd try to kill his family after they'd already been exiled from the kingdom for years.

But Kyo is different than his great-grandfather, in one big way: not only does he not solely feed off of the people who are criminals - he is well-aquainted with them and is more than happy to join them as long as it helps him towards his goal - to gain power and take over the kingdom that he whole-heartedly believes he deserves to own.
