There is no beauty in this world quite like pain, despair, and death.

Wen Fan's father was a pure-blood beta, arrogant, cruel and sadistic, his mother a pitiful human woman who bore his children against her will. Wen Fan had an elder brother, an alpha, who was about as arrogant as his father but stupider. Wen Fan learned to use his powers from his brother and then burned them all until they were nothing but dust in the wind. His grandparents, a declining but once powerful branch of Wen, found him in the Nightless City and took him in no questions asked.

The death of his family gave him freedom and a chance to completely re-invent himself. He (13) became friends with Wen Yuliang and followed him to the university. Yet before he could even enrol himself (16-17), they broke apart. Wen Fan was brought back to Qishan and remained there. When he returned to the university as a student it was as The Caring One, tasked with tending to the students of Wen.

besides a frail constitution, wen fan also suffers from a delicate stature. he is slender and stands at 1.63cm (5'4"), with long black hair that cascades down his back to his waist. wen fan adorns himself with care and wears traditional clothes in red or in black with platform shoes that add 8cm (3 inches) to his height.

he's a sub with trust issues, who likes to play dom. is a power play to him and he likes a partner who won't take away too much of his control. he is and very experimental, but the border between what he likes and fears is very blurry. wen fan has never taken heat suppressing pills. he takes pride in enjoying his heats.

wen fan is restless, vain and immature, with a tendency to obsess. he is a sadist, selfish and proud. having no real friends has made him a cynic and allergic to shows of affection. he puts up a strong front. 

deep down wen fan is very insecure. so deep down he doesn't even realise it. he spends his days compensating for something he is not. he is in pain and thinks if he has power the pain will go away.

wen fan is known most for his elaborate clothing, painful but effective healing, and frail constitution. secondarily, he is known to be arrogant, brazen and proud. he's seen as an entitled loner with no friends.

wen fan was born weak, to the point the people in his village whispered whether he would die of his poor health or by his father's hand first. using his powers put an impossible strain on him. he could barely walk 1000 meters without fainting and lacked physical strength. wen fan needed years to figure out how to manage his health, but now has reached a point where normal, non-strenuous activities aren't a burden on his body. the way he uses his powers (for healing) has become more efficient, minimising the strain it puts on him. when he hasn't taken care of himself or over-exerts himself, he can still faint and he is still physically weaker than the average omega. during heats his stamina and strength improve significantly, one of the reasons he likes being in heat. 

his power is blue fire manipulation but he is too frail to use it with a high output. things like shields, walls or burning large objects to cinder take all the strength he has. it's not that his power or cultivation, his body as the vessel just can't handle large outputs of power. he compensates power for accuracy. wen fan heals by using fire on a cellular level to heat the necessary cells and speed up the body's natural healing process. he can also use his fire to guide the healing process to do less natural things, and revive dying cells.

wen fan has a very loose relationship with the truth. he lies as necessary and without qualms, so it's better to not believe what he says. after a nightmare or an otherwise triggering episode he will take any chance he gets to torment or kill those weaker than him- but he won't make a show of it in public.
