a night to remember
born Yoo Ah Ra,she used to be a bright, sunny girl with love and hugs for everyone. Her family was her number one, especially her older brother who she was deeply attached to. The two spent all of their time together, or with their doting parents until one fateful night. Coming home from Yoo Ara's birthday dinner, a drunk driver crashed into their car. Her mother and brother died on impact, as her mother had been driving instead of their father, who'd had a few drinks. The loss of his beloved wife and son drove her father into a black hole of despair, eating him alive and impacting every aspect of his life. He became a heavy drinker, was fired from his job, and grew distant towards Yoo Ara, speaking to her only to tell her to do chores or to yell at her. In his grief, he blamed her for their loss. If she hadn't been born, they wouldn't have been out that night. His grief turned to anger that he vented on her frequently, beating her so badly that she could no longer attend school. The abuse is evident all over her back, where he beat her with whatever he could find, leaving long scars across her shoulder blades and lower back. Eventually, their situation became so bad that her father sold her here without remorse in order to have money to take care of himself.
