pages from hongBIN'S JOURNAL

___, 7th July, 2006

There is something wrong happening to me, no doubt about it. It's not only about misplaced objects or belongings gone missing, but something terrible than that. I'm experiencing lapses of my memories. It ranges from a few hours to a goddamn week, if I remember correctly. How could you explain otherwise then, when you woke up to the 2nd of June and your brain said it had been 25th of May yesterday? Has something gone wrong in my head? I gotta tell Auntie about this to maybe do a check up soon. I don't feel so well.

Hey Hongbin, this is Junho. You probably don't know about me - screw that, of course you oblivious little brat can't imagine something like this coming - but I tell you, I'm the other persona inside your body. How could I know? Because I'm smart, bro. Memory lapses are bull - your medical record said so too, right? There's nothing wrong with your memory. Whenever you have like, a blackout or something, that is me inhibiting your body. Or maybe even someone else? Chances are high that there're also other personas inside you beside me. Listen, don't freak out. Use your brain and think carefully. We can't let the others know about this you see, or else we will just get a sweet land to a ing ASYLUM. You know the weight of the situation now, right? Get out of this house as soon as you can, Hongbin. This is my first and hopefully last warning to you.

Hi Hongbin, I'm Uri. I saw Junho left me, or rather us, a note. Just let you know that I exist and, please take care of yourself. I'd rather us didn't get into an asylum, thank you very much.

Yours sincerely, Uri.

BIO

It all came down to the most tragic event that turned Hongbin’s life upside down: his mother passed away when he was only a five-year-old due to work hazard. While the innocent child was barely conscious of his mother’s death, his father, although had taken the blow hard, worked days and nights to provide for his only son. Gone was the happy days that they were together to simply enjoy one another’s presence; since Hongbin’s father had found solace in hard liquor as a way to let out his stress, he became violent and ill-tempered. He often at times preferred to let himself go and let his haunting grief and alcohol speak for him instead. The frequent verbal and physical abuse from his dad, Hongbin just silently took them without any protests. That was the only way he could repay for the one that had been raising him to this day, he thought, in long nights that he tended to all kind of wounds on his body or cried himself to sleep. It was easier that way, he decided, having said the casual “I’m fine” to anyone who inquired with concerns written all over their face, or pulled his long sleeve down to hide the marks of rope burned to his skin.

It had been fine to Hongbin, until it was not.

It was a case of self-defense, he heard them say. That one fateful night, when Hongbin received another kind of abuse. He could never forget the feeling of his own father’s hands on his body – filthy and disgusting to the core of his bones – the way he said his mother’s name, still broken and anguished yet heavily laced with lust; the way blood gushed out from the open gash on his head after Hongbin’s terrified shove. The way his eyes fluttered close, and he died with Hongbin’s name on his lips.

There was so much blood. On the floor, on his hands, all over his clothes. Red, the wretched color of guilt but also, freedom. He was finally free, but little did he know that the moment his father took his last breath, he also shattered Hongbin as a whole and he could never piece together the broken fragments of himself anymore.

After that, the twelve-year-old Hongbin moved to live with his aunt and uncle. He discovered of his illness, the Dissociative identity disorder, a year later, when he read the unfamiliar handwriting in his personal journal in which he wrote every day. He tried to hide it to no avail, and was taken to The Dome the day after his eighteenth birthday.

There is a total of six personas inside a person named Lee Hongbin, each one has a distinctive way of behavior and personality. Their names are Hongbin, Junho, Uri, Sungjae, Yuli and Kong. They aren’t supposed to know one another’s existences, but they have learned to do so after many psychotherapies Hongbin has gone through. Though not being the “real” persona, Junho is the most dominating one that usually takes most of the time inhibiting Hongbin’s body. He is sarcastic, quick tempered and judgmental – not with bad intentions, because he is like that to protect Hongbin and the other personas. The others, beside Uri, have no qualms with Junho and usually let him take charge. What is each of them like? You will know when you get into closer contact with Hongbin.

OOC CORNER

Hi, just call me by the name of whoever muse I'm rp-ing as. What to say- uh, my style is 3rd semi/para but this clueless soul tends to mirror at her best, therefore literate responses in general make me happy. Keep in mind that I'm an uni student and you know the pain of real life so-  replies can come  pretty slow, but I'll try to get back to them as fast as I can. English is not my native language, so forgive me if I make any grammatical mistakes. Oh, and feel free so slide into thy pms if you wanna plot! I'm pretty open to any suggestions - except . Don't hesistate to notify me if you wanna drop whatever we are rp-ing atm too - I understand that muse is a fickle mistress. Thank you for reading!
