THE ENEMY OF ALL--THE DAIMON
Created after the god Apollo cursed all of his bloodline, the Apollites for killing his wife and child. They were an entire race descended from his bastards. He cursed them to be unable to walk in the sunlight, to die painfully at the age of 27 (The age his wife Ryssa was when she died), and unable to eat and drink blood to live. There are some that choose to get around the curse by the souls out of humans and destroying them for extra life.
Those are called Daimons and they must be stopped before they wipe everyone out. *
*Daimons are Non Playable Characters. Meaning you can have them do whatever you want for your plot.
They frequent the cities at night, moving in pairs or even numbered groups looking for victims. As natural predators they hunt and single out their target and wait for them to become vulnerable. Once the time is right they move in for the kill, the soul out of their victim. After the soul is inside it decays rapidly, permanently destroying it and any chance that individual had of an afterlife.
The only way to kill them is by Decapitating them, stabbing them in the heart, or exposing them to sunlight.
