Mermaids - creatures from the imagination of humankind. Almost everyone wants them to be real, wants to see them,
wants to be one of them. In the year 2020, humanity
succeeded in creating them.
There were gruesome experiments. Humans were chained up, they were tortured with chemicals and had their limbs cut off. The scientists finally managed to make merfolk, humans
whose legs would turn into a fishtail once they touched
saltwater. This, however, was only the beginning.
Once they were created, the experiments only grew worse. Humans wanted to find out everything they could about merpeople, and in their greed for knowledge wiped out most
of their creations. There were some, though, that managed to escape. They don't talk about what happened and how they escaped, and they usually have a hate for humans except for a selected few.
He is scarred both physically and mentally. Together with his brother and their friend, he built a city underwater. It is surrounded by glass to keep it dry and allow the merpeople to move on two legs and a small selection of humans to live with them. There are two gates where merfolk can get in and out of the City. Some of them prefer to live in caves they built outside of the glass and only come in to work or to see their friends.
The City is large enough to have a park with plants and animals like you would find on land. Despite its location, it has a constant supply of oxygen and there are weather regulations that allow the citizens to experience all four seasons.
