As said before, there are four clans in this rp. The main descriptions covers them, so go back and check if you don't remember. And of course, all clans can have people who diverge from the beliefs/usual personality. Your humans after all; we don't all fit the general mold!
Each clan has a commander, second in command, delegates, farmers, knights, civilians and hostages they've picked up along the way.
Commander: Leads the clan. They must think of what is best for the clan and CAN be overthrown if they do not. They are highly respected by everyone in their clan, for the most part. Many will up to get a better rank in the clan, that being of a delegate or knight.
Second in command: You're the big number two. You'll always be belitted by others and seen as unimportant, but the command (usually) sees you as a big part of his/her life. You're the person who makes sure they don't up. Though disregarded at times, your authority is still held high because of your rank which is, of course, #2.
Delegates: You speak for the higher ups. You're the guys who get to announce any decisions or laws changed by the commander/second in. Your public appearances are extremely important at keeping the rest of the community at ease. You also have some say in decisions made when speaking with the commanders etc.
Farmers: We need you to survive. Now that we're on Home, we have to make sure we don't this one up. You plant, harvest, etc. on the plant so we don't go hungry or die. Some of the community has already made shops and stands to give out food; be ready to provide for them. Your role is extremely important here.
Knights: You fight for your people. Some may be corrupt, some may not. Knights will fight under the command of their leaders and do have some say in battle plans. They also capture hostages and use them as ransom for whatever the clan may need.
Civilians: You're everyone else. You can create shops, explore the planet, do whatever you'd like! You're the basis of human kind in our clans and go about your day without as much worry as the other ranks. But you have no say in what happens to your society as long as your leader is doing well. Then again, you can revolt.
Hostages: As on the side bar to the right, you are taken from your clan by another one. You will be given worse conditions than most, made to wear silly costumes, and probably extroted for money, ual desire, or some sort of gain. Try your best to get along or escape while you can.

Hostages in more depth.
Hostages are captured in the heat of battle, seiges, etc. They can come from one clan and be kidnapped by another. Usually, all hostages are forced to wear degrading outfits such as maid costumes and used to following orders no one would ever want to do. They can even be used as ual gifts.
