forest

Somewhere you never want to be caught in, day or night for few make it out alive. Screams of Banshees and the mischief of ghosts are common here.

@Sehun [Vampire Slayer Leader] It was bad enough losing his first family. Being abandoned in the haunted forest of the dead, listening to their antagonizing screams at the mere age of 3. To young to know any better, the small child shivered in the cold night, sitting down and wailing oh so desperately for the loving arms of his mother. Father. Anyone. Tears streaking down his cheeks and blurring his vision of the true state the others were in. Dead. The screaming forest was a place of terror. Where witches summon the dead and the spirits of their bodies return to earth, haunting any human or living creature that dare trespass into their territory that weren't blessed by the banshee queen herself.

Perhaps his family was truly desperate for a cause he never could understand as a child, or even to this very day as he stood once again in the same forest 13 years later with a new family and new home of different creatures. If it wasn't for them, the small werewolf pack that was deemed gentle in the eyes of humans, he might not have made it out alive that night. He was finally happy. A state of mind fate looked so cruely down upon with a blazing hatred.

It was cold. Wisps of fog escaped his parted lips as his teeth chattered, clicking softly and drowned out by the screaming ghosts as he went about his own way, gathering seeds, nuts, berries for himself and his new family. Eyes squinted under the full moon as his sight slowly began to adjust to these poorly lit conditions. He had been out for hours now. His whicker basket nearly brimming to the top with gathered treats when the ghostly screams ceased causing the hair on the back of his neck to stand in fright.

It sounded as if the whole world knew what was coming except for him. The ear piercing scream of the den mother making his blood run cold as he dropped the basket in his haste to run home. Seconds felt like days as he neared the place where his family resided. Chest heaving as he collapsed against a tree for support, stopping cold in his tracks as he stared into the dark infested house. The lights were out. The shadows creeping from the trees and clinging to the very foundation of his home as the screams choked into a hushed silence.

That was when he saw it. Two eyes glistening under the dripping moonlight. A monster standing on his two hind feet and emerging from the dwelling place, claws digging into the door frame with each step, scratching the mark of death upon his home as the wood splintered and bowed to the will of the creature.

Junya's eyes widened, fingers brushing over his lips to muffle his sharp gasp in terror, but it was to late. The beast's head jerked towards his direction, a feral snarl ripping from deep within his gut as he lowered onto all fours.

"Heh... hee hee heh, he ha"

The creature's raspy sounds mocked him. Junya backing away slowly as his hand fell from the sheltered protection of his former hiding place. There was no where he could run where he wouldn't be chased. No height he could climb without the creature lunging towards him first with one swift jump.

So many people process situations in their mind. What would happen if they ever ended up in a certain scenario, assuring themselves they would always make the righteous choice and do what is best for themselves and others.

But thoughts only show who we wish to be. Actions define who we really are.

So one couldn't blame him for refusing to run. Standing his ground because he knew what would happen the moment his back was turned in flight. No decision that could be made now was the correct one. And fate lead him to the disastrous reality that death was inevitable.

"Human"

It spoke. The creature snarling as it barely sounded out of breath, stalking slowly towards Junya. It was in no hurry to kill. Why should it be? Hunting a human was a joke to all creatures. The only sport in it was watching the life drain from a human's eyes as the fear slowly consumed them from within.

Junya took a step back. Fear causing his entirely body to tremble as he slowly began to hyperventilate. The back of his heel catching onto the exposed root of a tree, falling backwards and crumbling helplessly onto the cold, unforgiving ground. The wind was knocked from his lungs as the creature finally made a lunge. Large, front paws landing on Junya's shoulders as sharpened canine teeth glistened with the blood of his dead family, latching onto his exposed throat.

Growling. Head jerking in satisfaction of the dying sound of attempted screams being silenced in the back of the human's throat made the beast grunt in sadistic pleasure. This was it. Junya's eyes fluttered shut as his weakened attempts to pry the jaws off of him gave way. The venom seeping into his veins as he would undeniably obtain the curse if death didn't snatch him up in greed with his bony, corpse like fingers as the world slowly began to grow black around him, fading silently into unconsciousness.
