hesperides
the hesperides were the nymphs of the sunset. they were responsible for taking care of this garden, belonging to the goddess of hera, in which there was a grove of apple trees that bore golden apples. these fruits were believed to give immortality to anyone who consumed them. to guard this tree, hera placed a hundred-headed dragon named ladon. beware of him.
