MATES

TRUE MATES:

  • True mates are the first person you mate with, they are they ones you decide you have dedicated your being to. You bond to them for life. There is no breaking this bond. You can communicate easily through a private link instead of a pack one and you can sense each other's feelings
  • You may only claim a partner as a True mate 1 month into dating. It's a serious commitment within the pack and is a punishable offence if the tradition is taken lightly or ignored completely.
  • You can break up with the person and leave your true mate. Once you have had a true mate, you cannot have another True mate. You will not be able to break the mark, connection or bond with that person, nor will you be able to build another bond like it. You won't be able to talk with a chosen mate through one on one bond as it cannot be formed. Your soul is still dedicated to your true mate, even if you have a new mate.

CHOSEN MATES:

  • These are mates that are not true mates, they are more like "Second chance mates."
  • The only time a chosen mate comes into play is when you are no longer with your True mate, be it they died, left or just didn't want to be with you anymore.
  • To mate with a Chosen mate, you must first make sure the Elders know of your parting from your previous mate as well as have a months dating prior. Just like the True mate ceremony, you need permission and blessing from the Elders.
  • A previously mated person can choose an unmated person as their Chosen mate, howver, this does not mean that they will get that bond that the first mating did and the same to the chosen.
  • If a previously mated wolf chooses you as their Chosen mate, you cannot communicate through bond even if it is your first mate.
  •  Unmated wolves that choose previously mated wolves as their True mate risk never being to hold a bond that unmated wolves have once they mate. It can lead to quite a few failed relationships when you have others near you talking about such a strong bond that you can't feel.

THE LAW BEHIND TRUE MATES:

  • For as long as anyone can remember, as long as it had been written even, the law behind mates was simple. It is not something you rush nor is it something you take lightly.
  • A true mate is a mate for life. No matter if you choose to go your seperate ways, you can still tell when they are happy, sad, angry e.t.c. You two cannot break the bond that allows you to be able to talk intimately without using the pack link like non-mates have to. A thing more strict than marriage in the human world, claiming a mate without The Elders permission can be punishable by death. Til death do you part afterall. If your mate dies, the bond still doesn't break. You cannot find another True Mate. Wolves only will ever have one true mate.
  • An unmated wolf can choose a previously mated wolf to be their true mate, however, the bond that allows them to feel each others emotions and hear each other will not exist. You cannot bond to someone who is already bonded.
  • There will be no claiming anyone as "Mate" without The Elders permission or you will get a warning.

THE LAW BEHIND CHOSEN MATES:

  • Unlike True mates, Chosen mates are the mates that are like second chance mates. For wolves that have previously mated, a second chance mate is a second chance at love. It is similar to the True mate ceremony, however, instead of a bite mark, it involves a ring. Unlike those who are true mates, the chosen mates can be marked but it will not remain on their skin for the rest of their lives, meaning the only way to link themselves to their mate for eternity is with a ring that promises til death they part.
  • It is another strict law that is punishable by death if not taken seriously. The tradition has been alive longer than anyone in the pack.
  • Like stated earlier, A chosen mate for a mated person can be a Pack member with no previous mate, however, this can be painful for the unmated wolf as they can't tell what their partner is feeling or hear their voice through a private bond when they need comforting or need to ask a question.
  • There will be no claiming anyone as "Mate" without The Elders permission or you will get a warning.
