Levels.
there are, in total, five levels in the middle. each citizen is ranked into that level according to the number of missions they've already accomplished. typically, one would spend around 10 to 15 human years accomplishing their missions, but since time is a concept not acknowledged in the realm of purgatory, they pass by as though they are but months. they are to finish all the missions before reaching level 6 – the final level. the final level is where they're subject to the rites, and are led to choose one of two options: to either stay in purgatory and continue to guide newcomers and help them achieve their missions, or finally enter into the afterlife with peace and fulfillment. please tag lord lightmaster upon claiming your mission points. below are the levels and their descriptions, as well as the advantages of each citizen within that level:

the lowest level. newcomers to the middle are automatically placed in level one, and are considered neophytes as they are novices to this life. their memories of death are still fresh, and their past life troubles still affect them greatly. in order to advance to level two, they must first have 150 mission points. there are no perks yet for monocerotis citizens.
`` ✶ level two : antares.
those in the second level have more experience compared to their level one counterparts. though they are still neophytes, they have completed a few missions and are beginning to familiarize themselves with how the middle functions. they are starting to work on their regressions. in order to advance to level three, they must first have 350 mission points. antares citizens have the following perks: maximum norm posts daily is increased to three, hiatus limits are extended by one week.

level three citizens are now familiar with the systems in the middle. they have completed a considerable amount of missions and are beginning to see and feel positive changes in their psyche. they are the first level to be considered veterans. in order to advance to level four, they must first have 600 mission points. betelgeuse citizens have the following perks: one town room request, one cc pass, one dating pass.

level four citizens have spent enough time in the middle for them to complete most of their missions. because of this, they'd feel as though their burdens ate slowly lifting, and they are now much more willing to let go of their past resentments. they are the second level to be called veterans, and are getting closer to their rites. in order to advance to level five, they must first have 900 mission points. cygni citizens have the following perks: a second character pass, hiatus limits are extended by two weeks, an extra dice roll in the missions room, maximum norm posts daily is increased to five.

the level closest to the rites, level five citizens have completed nearly all of their missions and are preparing to enter into the afterlife. they have little to no remaining regrets left, and are satisfied with their rewriting of their story's ending. they are the last veterans, and after a while, they are subject to enter the rites and decide where they'd like to stay for the rest od eternity. in order to reach the rites, , they must first have 1350 mission points. cephei citizens have the following perks: a verification check on their norm accounts, a marriage pass, a personal feature in the purgatory news, a personal room request, a third character pass.
