Ashley's Dorm

*grins, glad that Raven is finally gone as I cup Ashley's chin in my hand, turn his head towards me and give him another kiss*

*blinks before looking at the sketchbook, smiling gratefully after a moment and taking it, hugging it to my chest as I head off to my room*
I'll bring it back later, I promise

*looks over at Raven*
Wait..
*Reaches over and grabs my sketchbook before holding it out to her*

*purses my lips before sitting up straight*
I'm gonna go to my room for a while
*stands up to leave*

*looks up at Skyla with the same sad eyes*
You do..?

*The only thing keeping me from hugging Ashley is Raven, but I don't say anything to her so I don't make Ashley feel worse*
I love you Ash...

*rolls my eyes as I just hug ash tighter*

*I turn away and refuse to say anything*

*glares at Raven as I walk in and sit down on Ashley's other side*
What's wrong Ashie..?
*I ask softly as I lift his chin up so he's looking right at me*

*frowns but stays silent*

*sniffles*
It's okay, let her come in...

it's not your business, skyla, go away
*shakes my head*
go bother someone else for once

Uh, I'm not gonna 'go away' after seeing my baby crying like that

*mutters before looking at skyla, narrowing my eyes*
nothing. go away.

*Walks in with my blanket hoping to get more cuddles from Ashley*
Hey Ash-
*I pause as I see Ashley with his head down and Raven hugging him*
Oh my god, what's going on??

*Looks up for a second and sniffles, my voice shaky when I speak*
That's awful... The only reason I remember my dad is because of that... twenty-five years later, I'm still completely broken..
*Drops my head back onto my hands, pretty embarrassed at the fact that I'm practically having a breakdown in front of you*

*frowns and looks down, still hugging your waist*
I don't even remember my parents.. they were never home.. but I remember finding them..

*looks back at you with tears in my eyes*
I'm so sorry.. I would never wish this amount of pain on anyone...
*Pauses for a second because I'm unable to speak without my voice cracking*
I was around five years old too, but I remember every little detail... I WATCHED my dad shoot himself-
*Pauses again, with tears now running down my cheeks*
The last thing he said was... "Don't worry about me son, I'm going to heaven with mommy. I'm sorry I failed you."
*Chokes back a sob as I drop my head onto my hands*

*hugs your waist quietly*
I lost both of my parents when I was five.. they were killed by the serpents..

*I don't say anything, but I accidentally let out a sniffle*

*frowns a little and looks down*
I'm sorry..

*closes the sketchbook and looks away*
That's- that's my dad...
*I squeeze my eyes shut to keep from tearing up*

why not..?
*looks up at you curiously*

*shakes my head*
I don't wanna talk about that one...

*leans against you when you come back, looking at everything silently before frowing when you suddenly skip over one*
wait I didn't get to see it..

*smiles a little and nods before standing up to grab the sketchbook from the drawer, then sits back down and opens it revealing some pages full of small, simple sketches, and others with bigger, more complex drawings of people, animals and random objects. One page in particular seems to have gotten wet in some places and I try to quickly flip away from it*

okay..
*kicks my feet a little*
..can you show me, though?

It's okay, just don't do it again

*huffs quietly*
I already said sorry..

You could've just asked, i don't have anything to hide. It's just not a good habit to look through people's stuff without permission
