@‹ ❁ › ❛ yunjin h。 after pulling out the chair for yunjin, jay thanks her for the exchange compliment, not expecting one. he deadpans as jake teases, seating himself across his stunning guest. jay doesn’t budge from his deadpan expression, pretending to be frozen; deviously trying to end the video call early. after a few moments of jake’s futile banter, jay pretends that no words are coming out of his mouth as he “apologizes” for the poor connection. jake groans audibly, but bids farewell to both parties. “have fun, kids.”

after hanging up, jay clears his throat, somewhat flustered by the call. he could never understand how outspoken (confident) jake could be towards women. jay gestures towards the menus already laid out on the table, making recommendations to fill the awkward silence (awkward to him). before he realizes question directed at him. “not too long. and i’m sure whatever you decided on, you would have looked stunning.”

jay looks at his menu, scanning it.

“get whatever you want, jen, my treat.” jay looks up, offering his signature sincere eye smile. even using something as simple as: a shortened english name, made jay feel somewhat closer to the other. “do you want to start or end with coffee?”

@‹ ❅ › ❛ jongseong p。 there’s a familiar figure on the screen that she somehow manages to get a peek of over jay’s shoulder, one that she flashes a smile to out of gratitude because their previously friendly encounters do everything to ease her tension. there was a certain air of nervousness around her but she manages to lull it away as she settles into her seat with a light lipped grin. “thanks. you look cute today.” cute definitely wasn’t the first word that had come into her mind when her eyes finally landed upon his figure, but she didn’t want to let loose with her words so easily.

jake’s banter makes her snort, and admittedly she’s a bit embarrassed at the unbecoming nature of her laugh, the pink flush on her cheeks evident of the newfound bashfulness. yunjin gathers her hands in her lap, eyeing the phone with a look of amusement. “you don’t ever call your group members beautiful? you should do that more often, jay. who knows what they might call you in return?”

the weather is perfect, the cafe beautiful, and the scenery impeccable. yunjin wishes she could immortalize this kind of leisure, but she knows that life goes on regardless of her desires for time to stop and for her to keep pursuing this fluttery feeling that jay strikes in her stomach. “did you wait long? i had a bit of trouble figuring out my outfit, sorry.”
